  • I bought this lo pro from the forum early this year without too much thought. I just knew I wanted a lo pro in my size. Rode it around a bit, didn't change much, just shortened the handlebars and tweaked some stuff.

It's not a Bianchi, started as a geared TT bike and at some point the rear triangle was misaligned. The previous owner got Jake Rusby of Rusby Cycles to re-align it, remove the down-tube bosses, front braze-on hanger, gear cable holders and bottle bosses. He also changed the dropouts. Armourtex powder coated it. My guess is the frame's English and the forks are Japanese, but I don't know.

Now i'd like to give it some attention, not sure where to start or what to do but here are some thoughts in no particular order, some contradictory, some i'll defo do, some probably not.

    • Fixed skidder
    • Cold set from 130 to 120
    • Clinchers?
    • 650 front?
    • Bright pink
    • Remove decals!
    • Risers
    • Disc?
    • Black parts?
    • Spoked back wheel?

  • This popped up on FB

Turns out I've got an Orbit profile 24, 531 c

  • Think I knew the guy who had that^ or at least exactly the same frame (though think I recognise the sticker).

Lovely frames; did think of getting the bianchi ages ago when it was for sale. Twas bargainous too.

  • Yep @windym literally gave it to me for free.

Hopefully cold setting it this week. I have the option of a campag khamsin disc, but need to decide quickly. I think a black disk would look ace, but a campag khamsin is not a bad option.

  • Thinking of NJS components where I can, just for the heck of it. Perhaps if I get round to an NJS build then I can swap the parts and have a full NJS bike quickly. Therefore I'm thinking of the following:

-Shimano Dura Ace FC-7600 cranks and chainring
    -Dura Ace lockring and cog
    -D.I.D Daido chain
    -Nitto stem
    -any NJS headset

Rear wheel is where i'm unsure what to do. Gonna be cold setting the rear forks to 120mm, but unsure if i'll just build a clincher with an NJS hub or try and get a disc.

Also picked up some Nitto risers from @Shroom yesterday for this build :)

  • An Orbit Profile 24, the geo looks wrong to me but could just be the angle that other frame is taken at. Yup it was a good price I was not really convinced it was an orbit for two reasons, the rear stays looked a lot thinner on my frame and also the tyre clearance looked tighter than the Orbit frame. Lovely frame and forks though very tight and responsive, pleased your still happy with it.

  • I think this frame was also an orbit/closely related as someone had the same colours ect on a known orbit frame. They, the frames look pretty similar (most noticeably the seat cluster), obvs share the profil 24 decals.

  • Hi, I see what you mean but the rear triangle stays look a lot thicker on the Orbit frames than on my old one.

    Andy

  • but surly just different frames, different tubing

  • I see Andy's point. I will keep investigating, but Orbit profil 24 is the closest so far.

  • Oops, it asexually reproduced or underwent mitosis or something overnight. I swear I didn't buy an identical frame just for lolz

  • As per the original idea of having the blue one built with NJS parts, i've been collecting slowly since xmas

  • Not going drops are you?

  • I'm not that mad. They came free with another purchase. I've got nitto risers

  • Or chop n' flop?

  • We'll see

  • So I've searched the world trying to find 36H 520mm ISO rims (Clincher). I've finally found only one model. The Velocity A23. But no one has them so i'm trying to get some through back channels otherwise their retail price a shipping will be crazy.

literally the only 36H, 24x1 1/8" (520 ISO), 20-25mm, rim in the world. I think i'll be asking for too much if I want it non machined :P

  • The plan is to build the turquoise frame all NJS first. Have it as the cool Sunday best bike. Then work towards the beater.

  • Just bought £100 worth of mini tyres from Germany too.

  • I built the wheels! Raidal front, 4x rear with NJS spokes.

This build is going to speed up now, rims, front spokes, frame and pedals will be non NJS.

  • Looks steep (and v nice), how comfy is it?

  • Was pretty comfy on the previous ss setup. Will probably have risers or chopped and flipped njs bars so might even be comfier.

  • Question is, what NJS chain? Silver or Black?
