I had all sorts of problems with vintage bottom brackets, so when this came up on e-bay at a good price, I snapped it up:
It's a delightful component, which came complete with a lovely, if a little over-engineered installation tool:
Imagine my disappointment therefore, when I couldn't get the cups to engage with the bottom bracket threads correctly.
I am reasonably sure that it's just paint blocking the threads, so I'll need to take it to a shop that has a tapping tool. But as this is a Bank Holiday weekend, and I am expected to be both a husband and a dad, it's back to the shed for this build until next weekend at best.
This frame will be built primarily with vintage Campagnolo parts, that I have been scouring the internet for since last August.
