Can I just replace the bearings?
It's really notchy when turningIt's the races which are pitted, and those are the bits which are pressed into the frame and need removing so that you can fit new ones, either OE or cartridges from an integrated headset.
The stupid thing about this is that Specialized probably saved all of $2 per Langster by using their stupid headset instead of a commonly available generic EC34 or IS one. Every owner who has ever had to deal with their crap would much rather have paid £500 for the bike rather than £495 in order to be in a better position 5 years down the road.

This might be rational, but the psychological evidence of how people discount the future means that most would still have chosen to pay £495 and deal with the shitty headset at a later date. :-)

This is now worrying me.
As far as I can see, it's about a 2011 frame. Dark green with white panels for the decals. Can I just replace the bearings?
It's really notchy when turning and any preload locks it up worse. Can't afford a lbs to look at it really
