Thanks @Scilly.Suffolk and @mdcc_tester I'm pretty convinced I'm going to go down the shim route. Shimming the bars up from 26-31.8mm would enable me to experiment with the adjustable stem on more than one bike which would be an advantage.
Fixed tt bike is now rideable, I just need some bigger gears and to get the front end lower and longer.
I need a 130mm adjustable stem, with a 26mm bar clamp. I've found stems that are close... This is the right length, but it has 25.4mm clamp while This is 25.8mm...
Does anyone know of any 130mm/26mm adjustable stems, or if not, how much flexibility is there in the clamp diameter? Could a smaller bar clamp diameter be used safely with 26mm bars?
Edit:
Steerer tube is standard 1 1/8.
I suppose another option would be to use my existing 31.8mm adjustable stem with a 26-31.8 shim?
