As others have said @General_Lucifer your serious stuff is superb, really powerful stuff. I really enjoyed that, it was very well written.

Thanks mate!
I'm looking forward to actually meeting people who know my writing. It's weird just chucking my words out into the ether then carrying on as if nothing has happened. I need a reaction, good or bad! -

Sunshine was an absolute gem @General_Lucifer, left me with a lump in my throat this morning.

@General_Lucifer yes.. Lulu's girl will be performing in Giggleswick in July with National Yoot Choir, i'll have to sort out my road bike and get some hill training in.. Niall would be around too methinks, he still recalls the Pudsey Pork Pies and Bottles of Guinness you brought up when we met up in the Dales

The Guinness and pork pies delivery at 'Luci's corner' is a very fond memory for me too..... my mate's were sure we were going to be murdered when I told them we going to meet my mate Lucifer off the internet :)

Guinness and pork pie is a signature dish of mine.
The fact that @mi7rennie is a vegetarian and STILL ploughed into a growler was one of the most majestic things I've ever seen. Chapeau! -

"Growler" - lol.

Manners before morals @General_Lucifer

Thoroughly enjoyed the Luci Pie I was given above Stanbury at TdF '14, it was great & much needed at that moment.

My grin does seem to be saying, "you have no idea what I put in those pies..."
-
• #3739
As long as you didn't get the ingredients from those nefarious chaps at work.

I'm glad to report the pies came from an award winning pie maker, a regular snaffler of the award for Britain's best pork pie. I rarely travel without them.

As it's my privilege to act vaguely in the capacity of host, I've set up an event thread over here; https://www.lfgss.com/events/1760/

I might have to bring pies to the gig - if I tank I can placate the angry mob with savouries.

ffS Luci now we need pie story, in full this time not the vague recollections on this forum, but in the spirit of the bully burger blog xx

The whole 'pies on bikes' thing is no story, really. It's always just a great chance to stop, clink bottles and eat pies with great friends. I've had some of my finest biking experiences whilst not actually being on a bike but by being in remote places, drinking stout and eating pork pies. It's civilised.

That will do I suppose, I'll be including our outing in my memoirs though.
Growler lol, from Bentley's of Pudsey.

Very good Luci. Your rant about carving the dry stones reminded me of one of my favourite lyrics
I kicked around with Harry who lived near Salisbury Plain
He worked on the cathedral there every now and again
He worked with stone, carved with stone, odd jobs on the telephone
One sunny day he was sent to the Houses of ParliamentChippin' away at the gargoyles under the blistering sun
He carved out 'Maggie Sucks' on the backs of every one
And so in five-hundred years there's gonna be some history here
After it all subsides in the sun -

Amazing! What a brilliant lyric. Cheers Mate!
Ha!
