Sounds more like an issue with the digitizer ?
-

Teh is a small crack in the screen, but I don't think that's new and the phone just started this. The crack is not on the screen, but on the surround bezel.
Guess I'll have to send it back to motorola. Yawn.

Maybe it got some water in through the crack? You're not having great luck with them are you
-
• #17505
No! Real bad luck.
No water, I've made sure it's been dry.
I was using it in a dusty workshop this morning, taking photos of a wood project?

taking photos of a wood project?>
Never heard it called that before.

• #17507
Sounds like liquid damage.
-
• #17508
I've been so careful about that! Not get wet at all! After last time...

Does anyone have a recommendation for a file manager?
I use Solid Explorer on my tablet which I really like, but thought I'd ask before downloading for my mobile.
(My mobile is not rooted.)
-
• #17511
I used Solid Explorer rooted for a long while, it's great. I got a new phone and used it un-rooted for nearly 2y and it's still great. Stick with it :)

I use ES file explorer. It's decent and slightly better than some of the others I've used but none of the file managers I've used have really leapt out at me as being significantly better than another.
-

ES file explorer was good until it was sold to a crapware company. Avoid at all costs now. MiXplorer from XDA is rather good, but can't be downloaded from play store so a bit of a faff.

File commander works for me.
-
• #17515
I used file commander on my tablet as it's the only way to use USB sticks, but I don't really like it.
Compared with Solid Explorer it's just so budget looking.
Cheers for all the comments, I think I'll go with Solid Explorer. It is kind of ridiculous that there isn't a default easy to use file manager.

My Nexus 5X seems to be a bit crap (and by "bit", I mean very) with Bluetooth - reconnecting to previously paired devices just doesn't like working.
Anyone else with this problem?
-
• #17517
Considering an Honor 7 or Honor 5x, anyone had experience of these devices?
-
• #17518
Yup, I haven't been able to use it for months...

I unlocked my G4 a couple of weeks ago, put on the Marshmallow stock ROM and rooted it.
Went a step further with XPosed framework and GravityBox this week.
The phone feels almost perfect now. Mainly just little touches that I can do with XPosed:
- Hold volume up when it the phone is off to turn on the flash light.
- Double tap recent apps button to switch between the last two apps, like alt-tab in Windows.
- Battery percentage inside the home button circle, which is itself a little circular battery bar chart.
- Forcing volume buttons to move the cursor in a text box, no matter which keyboard I use.
- Long press back button to enable full screen "immersive" mode.
- Open user defined apps by tapping or long pressing on the clock in the notification swipe.
I am also really liking Google Now on tap, particularly the easy to use screenshot sharing button.
Marshmallow Google voice is really really good too.
Love android.

I've just flashed a more recent ROM, and it seems to be working better.
What's most disconcerting is that it got worse over time.
I may try reinstalling AOSP Bluetooth next time.

The small crack in the screen was the issue apparently. Thought I dunno as I thought that had been cracked for a while.
Either way £90 for SBE (motorola) to replace the screen.
Meh. -

I'm trying to connect my Nexus 6p to the stereo in my van. I've had no problems connecting other people's iphones but every time I try and connect it says "can't connect, incorrect pin or passphrase" or something like that. At no point does it give me the option to enter the pin number (which is 0000). Any ideas how to sort it out?
-
• #17523
The only reason I'm trying to use Bluetooth is because somebody knackered the auxillary input on the stereo.
-
• #17524
Nexus 5x & 6p seem to be utterly crap with Bluetooth.
Try unpairing all Bluetooth devices (in the car too), clearing your cache, and starting again.

Will rooting a 2nd gen moto G mean I can move more apps to the SD card? I've totally run out of storage, otherwise I don't find it too bad considering it was free.
Can android phones get viruses or something?
My moto x style started being really weird. For no reason, the screen just isn't working (works fine sometimes) and it then starts selecting loads of random things (erratically).
Or is it more likely the screens stopped working, but why?
So fed up of phones...
