The Royal Oak is one style that I genuinely can't get my head around. I can normally see some appeal to watches that I don't like but the Royal Oak just baffles me.

Even the less busy dials for that matter.

Maybe you need to see it in the flesh?

Nah, I think the price point under a grand is quite tricky. You either get obscure brands or bad quality / design.

I'm actually thinking about buying a regular Ocean One, it may be all I need to get rid of the pesky Submariner itch...

Just found this thread and its not doing my work to-do list any good.

Question for the watch experts - I have had this watch in a drawer for years but know nothing about it apart from the fact its a Seiko. Its an automatic and says 21 jewels on the dial. Does anyone know the era (I'm assuming 70@s by the design) or anything else of note?

It needs a service as it looses a bit of time through the day.

Its a Seiko 5 "TV-screen".

I said before not a fan of Steinhart. I know the quality is there.

Just not the style imo.

Steinhart knock it out of the park... Some great models, a great price point, Swiss 'made', ETA movements... You'd be a fool not to...
