Yep, sounds like an absolute chancer.
My understanding is, under the distance selling regs, the return postage has to be footed by the buyer? However, you can always contest this with the seller, if they're decent enough they'll sometimes accept all cost and, with it, the responsibility. Doesn't sound like this guy's on that wavelength, however...

I've opened a dispute and he has replied to me. He's basically saying the crack wasn't there when he sent it, however I see no way how it could of happened during transport. Either way it wouldn't my issue but his with the delivery company.
He told me that he won't refund me so looks like I'll have to end up making a claim.
Yeah I'll give PayPal a ring today
