  • Coming soon ( late April/early May ).

    Each route from this book has short-cuts and extensions.

    Main route: 18.8 miles ( 325 metres of climbing )

    Short-cut: - 12 miles

    Extensions: +3.5 & +2 miles

    Suitability

    This ride uses mostly non-technical, easy-to-follow trails, which never stray too far from civilisation ( or pubs ). There isn't too much climbing and none of it is very steep, and there are plenty of bail-out options in the form of country roads if needed, so overall it is suitable for anyone who isn't looking for a hard, technical ride.

    Technical rating

    The trails in this part of the country aren't very technical, so it won't be a surprise that this route isn't very technical, but it isn't dull either.

    Terrain

    A lot of well draining doubletracks, but also a few that can suffer from vehicle use after wet weather. There aren't any long, difficult climbs, but enough to get your lungs working.

  • much provisional. very commit

  • Give me a date on any given Sunday and I'll do my best to be there.

  • Date now added.

  • Train timetable for the day.

  • A couple of tiny adjustments, but this should be the route.

  • Quick bump for this, as it's only a week away.

  • Ok, the list of attendees for this ride is:

    @TomvanHalen
    @t_w
    @Ricochet
    @Farcuss

    Two of you ( Tom & Justin ) live far enough away for there to be little chance of you being able to make it. The other two, I've never met, so please speak up if you're able/unable to come this time, otherwise I might just reschedule this for when the weather's playing nice :-)

  • Yeah, it's about £25 to get over to Watton so that may not happen

  • Right, going to save this for another time.

    Will be going to Epping Forest on Saturday, should anyone fancy an alternative.

  • Sorry man. I thought the train journey would not be as much as six hours and £52.
    I'm going to meet up with you for a ride sometime, just have to time it when you and I are both around in London. Or you come to Swansea and ride here. You can crash at mine if you ever do come.

  • Hardly worth that time and effort when you have better trails on your doorstep :-)

    Thanks for the offer! Would genuinely like to do some riding around there again, even if I do have to walk up all the hills...
