Versa VRS11 shifter parts?

The cable nipple had got stuck into my VRS11 lever and in my ham-fisted way I managed to knacker the cog part in getting it free. I'm now left with a completely useless shifter! I haven't had any luck finding spares..... I don't suppose anyone has a shifter with another broken part that I could rip apart? Or any other ideas? I can only think of trying to glue the new cable in place with araldite....

My experience of the Versa 8 speed shifter is that even in fully functioning order it's pretty damned useless, is the 11 much better?

It did seem to work ok.....bit of a wierd spongey feeling to the change, but otherwise ok.
I'm veering towards the jtek bar end shifters at the moment, but would rather not spent ~£100 if theres any way I can get a bit more life out of the Versa....

Dunno if theres a version for the Alfine 11 but the Microshift barend shifter that came on my Day One works pretty well. Should be cheaper than jtek I think.
