  • I tried TCX on the Buck Blinder diy ish. I didn't like how it popped up directions at the bottom. It seemed a little unwilling to do turn by turn as well. In the end I turned off the track and just followed a coloured line. It was actually nice not to have the beeping all the time. Problem is, if I'm not paying attention I can lose the track and not know about it because there's no warning beep. Be good if you could have the 'off course' alarm sound but not have to enable TBT nav.

  • That's what I get with a gpx file. No TBT nav, but an off course meeple if I go off course. TCX can indeed fuck off with its TBT directions. Most of the time I find it's telling me not to turn off the road I'm on onto tiny farm tracks, dirt roads and footpaths. Not exactly helpful, given that I wasn't planning to anyway.

  • So you export a GPX course and navigate with it but with TBT turned off?

My GPX files give me TBT on 800 and 1000 if I have it enabled, which I usually do. The difference with the TCX is it pops up little notes for every cuesheet instruction as well ("Turn left toward Middlegreen Rd" or some shit).
