Maybe you're too young to have seen Heysel live on TV? It seemed pretty obvious what was going on there.
-
• #127403
One thing at a time. Let's not mix up Heysel and what happened at Hillsborough. They were two different matters altogether.

Maybe when opposition fans yell murderers you could get them to specify. Many will hide behind the "it's about Heysel" when many sing it in relation to the events at that Sheffield stadium.
Ultimately it is a really simple question:
"Were the the Juve fans deliberately murdered or did the stadium collapse?"Not to be mixed up with the idiotic pronouncements from the club or those associated with it.

"Were the the Juve fans deliberately murdered or did the stadium collapse?"
False dichotomy.
14 Liverpool fans were convicted of manslaughter.

I've only ever interpreted as that it was related to the Heysel incident. It's something that their fans will have to live with.
To top it all off someone, somewhere thought it'd be a good idea to hold up some bits of paper saying friendship when scusa would have been far more appropriate.

Liverpool FC left it almost 2 decades before 'dealing' with it. A delicious irony came down the line.

Don't forget the officials convictions - and those that were let off the hook.

What I like is the failure to link two sets of hooligans, poor policing, a stadium known to be in poor condition, to the deaths.
It's not like there's a wikipedia article to read or anything. -
• #127411
You really think that fans singing 'Murderers' are referring to Hillsborough??!
Fuck me...
-
• #127412
And the Sun and Times keep the story off their front pages tomorrow

• #127413
Oops my bad....that'd be always the victims song, right?

Use whatever rhetorical bollocks you want - 39 people didn't come back from a football match because Liverpool fans attacked them. You can choose the nomenclature - murderers? Killers? Manslaughterers? Unfairly maligned angels of Anfield?
Anyway, neat deflection from your OP trying to make your lot the victims of Heysel and denigrating your victims. Classy as ever.

I wonder what the buffoon would write about Heysel.

All got a bit dark in here.

Hardly surprising is it, given the demographic of this thread. I can't speak for everyone, but have vivid memories of watching Hillsborough unfold on tv, knowing that people were dying. It was horrific.

What a goal...
A million defenders shouting "Close him down. Close him down!"

You could do a lot worse. He's proven himself as a decent mid table manager
I understand your post was made in good will but it is exactly that attitude that leads to things like the bullshit in the sexist thread or indeed Hillsborough...Who started the forum's birds I'd yentz thread again? I cannot and will not accept they cannot reason their own thinking as adults.
