I am leaving Giffgaff before the September 24th Rate rises and because they are still not able to offer 4g service - despite promising it since March (for a further increase in price)
Moving to 3 = same network.
Same price at 15 quid a month but for that you get 4g and no charges for international roaming = win
and you are allowed to tether for 4gb of that data also. -

3 Network look to have way the best deals at the moment. (I need a new handset too).
Too good to be true?
I had a 3 phone about 6 years ago and the reception was shocking and the customer service crap. I swore never to go back. But I'm so tempted right now...

My girlfriend's contract ended 12 months ago (at least) but she's still been paying full whack - I bought her a Nexus 4 second hand ~12 months ago so she didn't take out a new contract with a new phone, but neither did she phone up 3 mobile and say I want to move to a sim only tariff that costs at least £20 less a month. Has anyone done the same thing and had any sort of joy with getting 3 mobile to backdate a new contract?
She thinks since the non "sim-only" contracts are basically suggesting that you're paying for the phone, not just the line rental, then she's been paying for a phone she hasn't claimed for the last 12 months.

If she speaks to Customer Retention, she may get some better deal offers.

Just moved to giffgaff after being on Orange/ee for the last fifteen years.
They couldn't/wouldn't match giffgaffs 30day 4g plan with 5gb for £18.
Its great having the increased speed on my nexus now, although the network seems to struggle with our scaffolding.

I need to get a new mobile. My iphone 5 is pretty broke.
I'm not super savvy. But I'd love a phone I can connect a bluetooth keyboard to to take decent notes and type stuff up on the go.
I wanted a plus size phone because I like the idea of a bigger screen.
Beyond just getting the iPhone 6s Plus, why would I get a samsung and which samsung? I have a mac and enjoy the compatibility between phone and computer.

I no longer buy Samsungs, since the removal battery is no longer part of their design. I own a LG G4, and its excellent in every respect.
The coming Blackberry Priv might be worth waiting for. Sadly the battery is non-removable, but its the other features that will make it a killer phone.

This is rather good:
Slightly odd at first, but he soon gets into his stride.

I'd like to switch to Virgin from EE. I have an iPhone 4 which I assume is locked to Orange. I did not buy this phone from orange, I bought it second hand, from eBay. The Virgin website tells me that
"To ensure your new Virgin Mobile SIM works in your phone, it needs to be unlocked. So while you’re on the phone to your provider, ask them for an unlock code and they’ll either give you one or let you know that your phone doesn’t need one."
Is it really that easy? Can I get an unlock code for a phone that I'm not the original owner of?

I've posted a wanted ad, might aswell ask in here too!
Anyone have an iPhone 5 or newer for sale?
My 4 is on its arse now..doesn't need to be the prettiest, aslong as the screen is fine, so a few case scuffs are ok.Cheers people!

A misprint(?) by EE could work really well for whoever is after a SIM-only plan.

16GB is the ticket.

Holy shit. I'm not due for an upgrade until August but will call them in the morning and try it...
-

I signed up for this today, leaving 3 as they're trying to push me onto a £25 tariff.
It's actually 19.99 per month if you're a new EE customer, 16.49 if existing. Unless they did me over...
-

They just told me it was the other way round - £16.49 for new customers only and then tried to sell me a second contract. It's a scam. No-one is getting it for £16.49
-
• #445
its only for a second contract. Amazing value though
-
• #446
"Includes a 10% multiplan savings
For additional line customers only
Now £16.49 (Was £34.99)" -
• #447
Hmm, their website says it's for existing customers...
Also, they warned me to expect it to jump to 34.99 as soon as my 12 months is up, although the blurb online suggests it'll just got up by RPI.
Hopefully signal and speed will be better than three, anyway.

Does anyone know of a cheap place I can get an i-phone 6 screen replaced? It's just taken a trip down a flight of stairs and needs repairing...

I just cancelled my phone contract and got a PAC number. They said that they'll charge me for 2 weeks following me using it, which seems cheeky.
Anyway, I'm thinking of buying an iPhone outright, possibly online from somewhere that pays Quidco, then getting a SIM-only deal with lots of data so I can Spotify to my heart's content. Seem like a sensible plan? Any recommendations?

Can anyone advise on how much better the battery life would be on an iphone se after upgrading from a 5s?
need a new mobile that can take good photos, last a whole day and cost under £35 per month.
Any suggestions?
After the aforementioned debacle, I'm going to use the 220 as a phone for taking riding, as the Acer I upgraded too is massive and I don't fancy having it in my jersey pocket.
Is there an accepted best/cheapest PAYG sim deal or are they all much of a muchness? Would only be used in emergencies out on rides so I'm not going to go through tons of minutes. It comes with a very limited browser so some kind of internet would be useful but not necessary.
