Thanks for the offer, but as I'm not from London, that won't work sadly.
I can't wear gaiters with these shoes (flat sole) but they're well high anyway and from proper leather. Good leather grease should keep most of the wet out. Still, in my experience at some point the water just creeps through.
Wool socks are a must anyway.
Is it worth trying out these SealSkinz?
