Don't go for Evolution, I oddly find it a bit uncomfortable compare to the Composit.

That's not Thomson you mean?

Got a thompson inline if you want that too!

27.2 black?
-
• #908
Yeah
Edit: Everywhere is doing them for £51 now. Cheap. Make my 2nd hand one not worth selling really. Put it on the beater.

Please. That thing is bleeding me dry of every penny I have. Drinks some serious fuel.

I re-covered a saddle today. Bought a stripped shell from Shroom, although not sure what model it was from, and some leather off-cuts from ebay for £2.99
It was a pretty easy job actually. Removed the rails, used pritstick on the shell to give it enough tack to get a rough outline. Cut out the two halves of the shape, and then use some stronger glue on the undersides/folds to stick it down. Dunno how durable it will be, but for ~£35 all in it seems like a bargain

Interesting...

Not as neat as on top (or as a real one, but then that's hardly surprising).
Didn't spend too long trying to get the tight radius curves, so some of them are just cut into segments.
Also, as my length of leather was only just long enough, both the tail and the nose were more difficult than they might have been, had to put a small patch in on the nose

Anyone got a Dynamic? I'm starting to think that may be better than the Evolution I've bought.

£122 from Mantel, cheaper from Lordgun if you don't want black.

For anyone who's interested, my stripped and re-covered saddle weighs 217g, compared to 224g for my legit Composite, a massive saving ...
Edit: OTOH based on the off-cuts of leather, I'd guess the stripped saddle might have weighed about 167g, which is a decent (?) saving

• #921
what model was the stripped one originally?
-
• #922
That's about the weight of one massive sneeze isn't it? ;)
Good work, looks nice, do a few and charge the hipster crowd :P

• #923
Ha, perhaps yeah. But the lengths a WW will go to are not to be sniffed (sneezed) at...!

ah ok, does it feel similar to legit composit?
Try finding a decent 25.4mm inline post.
