  • Need to get the Husqvarna sorted ASAP, there's a ton of stuff wrong with it now, fuels leaking out of the exhaust, rear light need sorting, replaced clutch cable but its not right... Got pulled by the cops on Saturday night and they did me for the rear light, but to be honest it could've been a lot worse and they knew it so they did me a favour letting that be it. Thinking of just booking it in a place tomorrow and getting it sorted. Any recommendations of places in North London? Someone said DMC Dalston were good. Don't suppose there is but is there such a thing as a place like a workshop with tools/mechanics on hand so you can do what you can yourself?

Burwin motorcycles on Essex Road. Best to give them a call to make sure they'll work on your make/model.

Passed my Mod 1. Was ridiculously nervous basically up until the end of the slow control... which is pretty unusual for me. Being so tense obviously made everything x10 harder.

Feel that I'm ready for my Mod 2 later this week. Unfortunately its first thing in the morning, so rush hour.

The uncertainty of what can happen in busy traffic isn't great, but on the flip side I'm guessing there will be a lot of sitting still.

    Fingers crossed!

  • Just ride for yourself. And keep relaxed. Good luck.

  • Don't forget that they're looking for confidence. In traffic you should be aware of filtering opportunities as well as bus lanes etc. Sitting in traffic will likely earn you a minor / major if filtering is available.

  • Much like all other comments, relax (not easy I know)
I talked to myself through mine, when I had the indicators on I would say that they were on to remind myself to turn them off.
    Lifesavers cannot be done enough.
Mirror checks need a full head movement not an eye flick.
If you get a chance to open the pipes, do so, you need to be at the speed limit (where possible).
Maintain correct distances from the car in front.

My mod2 was a load of pulling in and out of kerbs to prove I can do so safely.
The only maneuver they will do is an angled start, where your view is obscured by a van.
Poss hill start if you have a hill.

I was told by my instructor not to filter unless the examiner tells you to, even then he said they will probably lead and get you to follow, but I am not city based, I wasn't taught filtering on a lesson.

    Lastly, good luck matey!

  • Fingers crossed!

I have some slightly weird advice but it worked for me.

First time I failed my test I was dehydrated to fuck. Second time I made sure I was hydrated and I didn't make any of the daft mistakes I made the first time.

Also I second what the other guy said about filtering. I didn't want to be filtering on my test so I didn't - the tester will tell you if he wants you to filter. Personally I appreciated the break of sitting in traffic.

Best of luck with it man, you'll smash it.
