Looking at these for the brakes:

Any reason not to?
Would love to hear recommendations for a cheap disc 650b wheelset

Yeah I like that one too, minus the retarded bars. Would like to know the tyres on that build

Not yet. The english version of the site didn't work, so had to order using google translate, which was not perfect. Paypal added €18 so I used what I thought was the card option. Turns out it was a bank transfer option. So I've emailed the company and asked if that's the case. Hopefully it'll be here in a week or less once I've paid

"Would like to know the tyres on that build"
Panaracer Pasela?
-
• #15
May I ask what it costs to import one from the US?
-
• #16
Yeah could be, hard to see the labels but they look kind of blue, paselas have a red label don't they?
-
• #17
I used a duty calculator and it came up with a figure of £520 landed, based on F&F price of £400.
-
• #18
Definitely Pasela PT's.

btw sella-berolinum sells only up to 58cm framesets, there's a possibility to order 60cm through hugbikeshop in helsinki.

Nice one, thanks. Probably top of my list at the moment. Bigger than Kojaks and cheaper than Supremes.
-
• #21
Thanks. Ordered the 58, hopefully...

Why not go 650 with either the WTB Horizons in 47mm or Compass tyres in 50mm.
ooooh, and some Jones H-bars! -
• #23
Max tyre clearance with mudguards is 45mm I think. Will be running guards all year
-
• #24
Ahh but that's with a 700c tyre. 650 should give you clearance for a larger volume tyre.

Good point. This guy seems to be proving your theory:
I've just ordered a Soma Wolverine from the states. Mosquito closing and Cycleworx's price coming in well over £100 more than the delivered and taxed cost of the frame pushed me to ordering from 'merica.
Now to plan the build!
Doing it on the cheap for the time being, funded by the sale of my little used 97 Cinder Cone and often used and always hated beater. Thinking flat bars, MTB shifters & discs, MTB rear mech, 1x10 with narrow wide chainring at the front. Wheels I'm thinking anything cheap to get my rolling. I know absolutely fuck all about discs so this will no doubt be a massive compatibility learning curve. Something along the lines of this:
Maybe next year or sooner I'll go down the alfine route, possibly even the belt drive route, so not going to spend too much on components that'll not be used once that conversion happens. Something along the lines of this:
