Awesome, you'll be happy to know grip is equally as good as it is in the dry should it come to that.

veloflex master 25's - good, bad, or plain stupid? they will be used on my one and only bike for the next few weeks and be used riding through London daily. It's either those, a dead set of paves or I buy new tyres...

Anyone have experience with Grand Bois Cerf Bleu tyres?
-
• #3130
I've got Corsa 25's (black walled version) along with latex tubes on my 'best' bike and love them, probably my favourite tyre for long rides out in the lanes. Comfy, and I've not experienced any problems with grip or durability 250miles in.
Not sure how they'd stand up to glass strewn commutes though...

Me, love them, but if you can, go for
Compass version -
• #3132
Compass Cayuse Pass? Oddly the local bikeshop only sells Grand Bois...
-
• #3133
Velo Vitality also sell both.
-
• #3134
Cayuse pass seem to be sold out. Might get the Chinook pass from Velo Vitality but a pair of Cerf Bleus is 'only' €94,- at Liberté cycles which is tempting
-
• #3135
Incidentally in France at the moment, good shout, need to order some spare Grand Bois rims.
€94 is pretty good for a Grand Bois tyres, find out what the postage is and you're golden.

Liberté Cycles is Dutch...

• #3137
That make sense, got thrown off by the site.

GF has just had an off on her genesis day one, she's never really got on with the continental sport contacts that genesis ship the bike with, feels they don't give enough grip, and the back end is always slipping/sliding away from her.
Any thoughts on a grippier tyre, similar size 700c 35/37 and puncture resistant, as its her all weather commuter?
Let me know..

How grippy are they? Looking for something that offers a bit more traction, and still has a lot of puncture protection..
-
• #3141
marathon supreme
-
• #3142
What's the puncture resistance like on those? Not convinced by the blurb on schwalbe's page..
-
• #3143
marathon like but ride is much nicer, for extra assurance inject some sealant (bontrager TLR) in the inner tubes.
-
• #3144
Are you running these tubeless Bobby? I know the 2.2 are now tubeless, but your talk of new braking surface might mean you have something not on the enve site.
I'm getting impatient waiting for Schwalbe Pro Ones and need new tyres to fit to my Belgium Plus wheels.
Not 28s though as that would be venturing into Ed territory.
-
• #3145
Had a look at my rear tyre after today's ride; two wet outings and my conti GP 4k looks pretty fucked up, can't be more than 300 miles on it. Not massively impressed. Might go back to duranos.
-
• #3146
The Sport Contact were shit, so no surprise.
Go for what amey suggest, Marathon Supreme, or if weight is not an issues, Marathon Plus (be wary, they're twice the weight of the Supreme).
-
• #3147
God no. Tubeless tyres for road use can GTFO. Stupidest invention ever.
Get some Veloflex Masters or Open Corsa G+... I have 25c Masters on my Belgium+ rims and they are great.
28's are fucking ace.
-
• #3148
I want to run them tubeless. Apparently it's the future, so nothing ventured etc.
I don't think 28s would fit under 2011 Record callipers, or the Columbus Minimal fork.
There are a few rides left in my current tyres. Hopefully Schwalbe get another batch out soon. I really rate the Schwalbe Ones I have on my Cannondale.
Your bike looks ace btw. Well done.

Lower the pressure, install latex tubes.
-
• #3150
Understand the lowering the pressure to give more surface area for grip, ( she doesn't really run them super hard, her pump isnt that great ) but what are latex tubes going to do, to help stop wheels sliding out from under her?
Have put in 150 dry KM's on the open corsa G+ 28's since Bespoked finished (mostly bumpy B roads and fine gravel/semi paved farm tracks), and can report back that they are awesome.
Would reccomend. Doubt they will get much use in the wet as they are on my fancypants bike, so cant comment on that aspect.
