Dual brakes for the win and quick lock up of the back wheel when things go wrong MA3K :)
So far about 70miles total on fixed, i only have a short commute.
Maxed out at 23mph today, less bouncy than before so must be getting more fluid with the legs, i wouldn't want to go much faster on my 42x18 but i reckon i can hit 25mph, not enjoying the RPM's at those speeds.
El Cheapo chain seems to have grown a lot, managed to throw the chain a couple of times, although this was due to getting kick back for forgetting to pedal.... ahem, yes.
On the other hand i am happy to pootle down the road eating a slice of toast.
Chain tightness reset.
If fixie skidding = throw the chain and jam the wheel i might be able to do that, knees haven't liked attempts at braking so using the back brake loads.
Bike size is not helping, will be going back down to the smaller size frame. Had to try, frame rides nicely but coming from chucking dinky sized mountain bikes around the 62x58 is just not right.
However just checked from center of seatpost to center of bars and both come in at 25.5" reach. Going back to the 58x57.5 frame, but with a 100mm stem it's a stretch to the hoods.
Been eyeing up a lovely project frame but it may be a touch small at 56x56, which could equate to 55x56. I think i will swap the 80mm stem and risers onto the smaller frame as this worked well before. Might have a shorter stem to try on the 58x57.5 frame try and work out if a 56x56 will be allright.
Did get some steel toeclips and an impulse buy of red bars, so Cool NJS parts offset by gaudy gash red parts :)
