The BMW only have 500 miles on it so far, so not sure it'll be staying at 50mpg or get a bit better over time.
It just that they don't need that much power anymore, and would be happy to gain better mpg and lose a fair chunk of performance, and would be cheaper to remap the chip than to sell it and buy another car, especially when they had the Toyota since new.

Couldn't resist the calculation: £286 @ £1.05/litre, still not a gamechanger...

BMW will be the same or worse.
When was the last time it was serviced? fuel filter etc.
Does he thrash it?

About a year ago, doesn't drive it like you lots.

Why not sell the second car and then fill the tank of the BMW with the profit for the next 200 years?
-
• #27632
Getting it remapped for lower power sounds like an excellent idea. Perhaps disable a couple of the cylinders?
-
• #27633
Actual lol!
-
• #27634
Oh. Well, you'd only need to bilk a few tanks to make up the difference.

see, i'd like to be 75, but given I was 110 in mid 2014 (pre-dvt) i'm reasonably satisfied with a trim 85 - also 1.88m

• #27645
what did you go for then?
-
• #27646
A reconditioned 3.0 Capri.

Good man.
Brace yourself for many lols.
The difference in cost between 40 and 50mpg over an average 12,000 mile year is maybe £150.
Not worth worrying about.
