I finished building wheels (kinlin xr22t with offset rear / alpine iii / novatec) and did a quick mockup. In the rear the 28mm tyre leaves comfortable ~5mm clearance on both sides, front is 28mm max. but fits.

Thanks. I'm really anxious to try it out, but probably won't have time to finish the build in at least a week or two.
