How the fuck did they managed to fuck it up so bad, that I end up having to send a lots of customer's Maddux wheels to CSG for warranty?
And I never build a Cannondale with a Maddux wheels that's nice and true before, it's rare as hen's teeth.

Dunno, maybe some compatibility issues between the Panaracer tyres and the rims. Tubeless road and higher pressures is still fairly new and there's no universally agreed standard so tolerances are a bit all over the shop. The lower pressures with mtb/larger tyres is sympathetic to big differences. Whatever it is I'm guessing the product managers @ Cannondale wished they hadn't slapped their logo on both!
As for build quality - a wheel is only ever as good as the person (or machine) that built it. A good wheelbuilder can make you a great wheel out of bottom of the range rim, hub and spokes.

Maddux (Jalco) make all of the Far East Mavic rims so likely both rims originate from the same factory
