There's no way the standard mount arms will work on this. The shoe lace is a temporary fix. Any suggestions?
A piece of mechano would work.

Looked at from above are both the rack and the outsides of the stays about the same width? Would be pretty easy to fashion something in that case.
-
• #107609
No the rack is narrower than the stays by about 4mm either side

I might just fix it with an inner-tube shim and steel tie-wire replacing the shoelace
Ratty but it will work. The rack's only temporary.
If it wasn't for the fear of the shoelace wearing through where it rubs on the rack, I'd keep it.

I finished building wheels (kinlin xr22t with offset rear / alpine iii / novatec) and did a quick mockup. In the rear the 28mm tyre leaves comfortable ~5mm clearance on both sides, front is 28mm max. but fits.

^^ With that fix that rack is def temporary.

Minor adjustments. Still shit wheels, sportive-ready I think. Saddle could do with shifting back, but it's good on the tri bars now.
Fingers crossed that it's okay as-is for 90 miles unloaded, and will be fine for weeks of bikepacking (lightweight kit)

This is properly good, looking forward to the full build

Thanks. I'm really anxious to try it out, but probably won't have time to finish the build in at least a week or two.

this is absolutely beautiful. Only thing I'd change is maybe steel quill as clearly for a quite big rider.

Pannier adapters and zip ties should do the job. Like on mine.

Dude, zip ties?? not somewhere you'd want the stress to be.

It's temporary and only for light touring untill I add mounts on the dropouts and seatstays.

You might have better luck getting hold of him over on Retrobike.

nearly finished, just need to dial-in fit then cut steerer & get nicer bottles (know the tyres are on wrong-way round. decals look better on the drive-side imo)
Sick. Pic? :P
