You make Fatherhood sound awesome!

Seems like you have things well in hand, now just get some real fenders and your Lana will thank you.

That's the plan, I'll report back on the reality.

I wish I bought them off planet X when they were cheap. Any recommendations?
I'm also thinking about getting the Rockhopper blasted and re-sprayed at some point but I kind of like the rust.

In spite of Ed's hate-on, SKS are great.
-

to be quite fair, they still do work for the intended purpose, just never as effective, light and cheap as a good steel GB mudguard.

My favourite is still the combination of SKS fenders with Berthoud stays.

SKS guards with the mounts on the outside look good

Can anyone recommend a porteur rack that will fit without crown braze ons on the fork (I have the Croix de Fer with the carbon fork)? I was looking at the Soma one but can't find it for sale anywhere.

Palego or Minoura

Pelago looks like a good shout - thanks! I saw the Minoura one before, is it actually any good? Just didn't like the look of it.

Is there a way the velo orange one would mount like that too with addition of a suitable mounting part?

@mi7rennie I love that set up, very similar to my gringo but you've inspired me to strap a wald basket on top of my surly rack.
How old is your daughter? When you get any trips done any tips would be great -

Hi man, Lana is 2 and 3 months, planning to take her away in May or June, I'll let you know how we get on!

If you can fabricate a bit of metal to work as an axle mount it will.

any Functionalistas looking for a minty SRAM force 1x1o grouppo?
Got it for a project i'm not likely to build any time soon so passing it on. Force CX1 175mm cranks with Hope 44t Narrow/Wide chainring and GXP British thread bottom bracket, brake callipers, 1x10 shifters, 10spd rear mech (road version, not clutch but it doesn't make much odds). All mint condition...

Man, if I had something like that I'd deffo never lock it down in the street (even tho things are a bit different in my country).
Totally agree regarding the stand and child. It's more for loading and unloading, good shout with the toe strap, that would help.
The rockhopper is not a light beast and when laden she'll be even porkier but my adventures with Lana are going to be 5-10 miles of cycling, then camp out over night and cycle home the next day. Mini adventure type things.
It's all about having fun, with just the basket it's also good for my 2 mile round trip to the shops.
