I had an interesting chat with an Evertonian in my local after the game last night. He had such a hatred against Liverpool I had to ask him why, when the media always portray this derby as the 'friendly derby'.
He said the up until Heysel it was pretty friendly. But Everton were the best team in the world in 1986 and Liverpool ruined it for them by murdering the Italian fans and getting all clubs banned from Europe. Thus fucking up Everton for good. Liverpool have never apologised for it, there are no statues, no memorials, nothing. And he hoped that Origi's leg was broken and his career was over!! And the animosity between the 2 sets of fans is worse now than even Rangers/Celtic.
Does this sum up the general feeling? Seems a bit much to be honest.
