Precisely. Liverpool have hit a rare bit of decent form and Everton haven't exactly played up to their usual 6th place finish.

Season is a write off of course, except for potential FA Cup glory but judging by our form we'll bow out on Saturday. I fail to see what sacking him now will do. Maybe he'll go at the end of the season but I'm not sure. Kenwright is a stubborn old man. I don't think Moshiri will have much influence yet (being as he's still quite new to it), but we'll see.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he's there next season.
I think Rom and Stones will go but I'd like to think Barkley is more likely to stay. I'd love them all to stay of course but can't help feeling we're holding them back. Hopefully Rom goes overseas and Stones goes to anyone but Chelsea (or Liverpool obvs).

Look, the whole club needs a clear out, starting with Martinez
Then in this order:
McGeady
Pienaar
Osman
Stones
Lukaku
Mirallas
Cleverley
Coleman
Barry
Robles
Baines -

Mirallas?! He was excellent in the first as was Lukaku. I thought they were genuine threats until the horror show at the back and subsequent collapse. It was your defending that let you down. TBH I can't think of a more one sided derby ever.
Throwing the baby out with the bathwater?....Get a manager that can organise a defense and your troubles go away. -

Well I'm glad I didn't stay/wake up at 3am to watch that. This season has been a disaster. I'd agree with @tallsam I can't see Martinez being sacked, Kenwright just isn't that ruthless. I don't think there needs to be a huge clear out either. I'd move on McGeady, Pienaar, Osman (some role at the club hopefully), Lukaku, Barry, Barkley, and Cleverley. I'd try and keep Stones as all he needs is a coach who actually understands how to set up a team to defend. I'd much rather keep Stones than Barkley. As much as I'd like Barkley to really improve he hasn't, he is undoubtedly talented but he isn't a smart football player. He very very rarely makes the right decision when it counts and I don't think anyone is going to be able to improve his game until he starts making better decisions. Stones has progressed under Martinez and I think this seasons is just a blip on his progression. Having a coach that knows nothing about defending and encourages players to make stupid mistakes isn't helping either. Get another manager in and I think he'll soon grow in confidence and become a world class centre half.
There are good youth players coming through and there should be plenty of money to spend from the sale of Lukaku and Barkely. The problem is who spends that cash? Who would be a good fit at Everton? Should Everton give another young ambitious, relatively unproven manager a chance or go with someone with more experience? Challenging times ahead at Goodison but I just hope the right decisions get made and next season is better. -

Stones just bolted down tunnel, bottled it. Can't see him being there next season.>
From BBC: There could be a further concern for Martinez after fellow defender John Stones was substituted against Liverpool with a stomach problem.

43 shots on target compared to Everton's 3. Thats how to do it.
That moron who tried to break Origi's leg and acted like a cunt with a badge should be banned for 7 games minimum. -

Don't be a tit, it was a red...that's it. Happens every weekend
These however were not even yellows!!

I had an interesting chat with an Evertonian in my local after the game last night. He had such a hatred against Liverpool I had to ask him why, when the media always portray this derby as the 'friendly derby'.
He said the up until Heysel it was pretty friendly. But Everton were the best team in the world in 1986 and Liverpool ruined it for them by murdering the Italian fans and getting all clubs banned from Europe. Thus fucking up Everton for good. Liverpool have never apologised for it, there are no statues, no memorials, nothing. And he hoped that Origi's leg was broken and his career was over!! And the animosity between the 2 sets of fans is worse now than even Rangers/Celtic.
Does this sum up the general feeling? Seems a bit much to be honest. -

You've not met Graham before then?

Yes of course you do, but is this this a general feeling amongst Everton fans or is this guy a bit of an outlier?
-
• #127223
I imagine that most people of a certain age would feel that way. To an extent he's right about it as well.

No doubt the European ban didn't do any English clubs any favours but the hooligan problem was getting out of hand at many clubs and really should have been tackled before Heysel happened. And if Everton were the best club in the world at that time you got to wonder why they didn't go on to dominate domestic football for the following years. In those days European football wasn't the cash cow it is now and there was not such an emphasis on attracting foreign talent by playing in Europe.
He'll definitely still be there in 24 hrs. Don't be daft.
