I've just chucked my SKS chromoplastics on for now. Mounting as a bit of a farce with the pannier rack getting in the way of the rear stays so happy to be bodging with old guards, once I figure out a better solution I'll replace.
Wondering though, on a frame with track endsm re metal guards going to be stiffer than plastic and therefor make wheel removal more of a pain? I imagine they'll be stiffer...
I normally find I have to unbolt the mudguard stays to get the wheel out, unless I leave a huge unsightly gap. Certainly better than I clipping the mudguard from the stays, I can just bolt the stays back to the frame.
