Had mine booked for a couple of months, need to make a note in my diary so I don't work that weekend.

I'll probably go, it's always been fun and new bars on the bike should make rides a bit comfier. I do have the nice option of family in Ipswich though, so all the return faff is not a problem for me.

^ now that really is a plus.
the only time the return coach was really good was when our lord and master organised an lfgss coach -

I'm going from/to Ipswich.
That's cheatin'!

I'm in, I think a few people are doing it this year. Now that the coaches run all the time it's kinda easy just to go with Southwark Cyclists.

I should point out to those planning their ride that unfortunately we won't be able to do the Sible Hedingham feed stop any more, for various reasons. There are other options now, including a café on an industrial estate just outside Sudbury, at about 60 miles in. The event has grown so as to attract local economic interest, which is how it should be.
On the plus side, that means I'll get to do the ride again, for the first time in six years. :)

Public Service Announcement
The Southwark Cyclists tickets for coaches:
http://www.active.com/dunwich-suffolk/cycling/races/dunwich-dynamo-return-transport-2016Team Name: LFGSS
Beware the aggressive hard-sell by active.com who attempt to trick you into entering into a trial period for their product and to duplicate your credit/debit card payments to them so that they can bill you each month.
Really foul behaviour by active.com to cover the confirmation screen with a big upsell advert that makes it look like you haven't yet completed checkout, pretty freaking bad of Southwark Cyclists for using them for the ticket sales given that kind of behaviour.

Holy shit... coach tickets are £45 !
My work mates who were considering going, and I'd almost convinced them all to join LCC... they all are now hesitating.
Maybe I should run my own coaches again? I know it caused a lot of confusion for other (non-LFGSS) riders whom we turned away on the day, but there's no reason the price should be that high and as it's deterring 6 of my workmates from going then it may be worth doing.

Dude I am happy to drive a luton there and back for bikes.
-
• #12
That would be awesome.
We could only do it if the numbers were there, and we know from last time that a luton only takes about 35-40 bikes, the remainder have to fit in the coach storage space (precariously).
Let me think about the best way to check that we have the numbers.
-

When I did the drive, it was a LWB Transit type van, not a luton. An actual luton/3.5t box van would be able to carry more bikes.
Best way to check you have the numbers would be to have a free item in the LFGSS shop for foumengers to "buy" interest in an actual ticket.

I'm in if we have some sort of LFGSS transport.

Keen also

I have an early bird ticket but can get rid if forum stuff will help.
-
• #17
I would probably take x2 places if there was a forum option

Never managed to do a Dunwich Dynamo, life's always got in the way - would be interested if there was something organised. Can possibly convince one other too.

Dude I am happy to drive a luton there and back for bikes.
- Drive the van there Saturday morning
- Get the train back to London (with bike and no pressure about trains packed with bikes)
- Do the ride (now with added pressure of finishing)
- Have a rest/sleep before driving back
- Sell tickets
- Profit! (Well, make a tiny bit of beer money...)
- Drive the van there Saturday morning

Ma3k only drinks Pomagne.

• #21
Can you even get pomagne any more? Ma3k?
-
• #22
I'm intending on riding this year, so Yes Please to forum coach.
-
• #23
Nah, I have another agenda.
-
• #24
Can I suggest Westleton as a pick up rather than the beach. Heath Road can be bugger at 9am due to the coaches and cars trying to pick their way through the cyclists.

I'm doing it, it's a nice little jolly with the bro, finally gave gel pouches a go a couple of years back, amazing, like rocket fuel for the dark times
I just received an email reminder about earlybird tickets from Southwark Cyclists and while pondering whether I wanted to do this again though I'd see if there was much discusssion on here. So I was surprised I couldn't find a post about this years DD. Has the event run it's course? Maybe it just ain't the same now it's so big?
Are going? And or opinions.
Here's where you can get tickets for return (& outward) coaches
