  • Maybe posted already, not sure, but relisted:

Looks to be a 1990 Terraliner or thereabouts. May be worth a punt to someone for a rat, FM-1 is strong enough. Seller is in E17.

  • 24h to go, seems like this could be a bargain. Can anyone tell me more about the FMX tubing? From what I found out it's custom made for Fondriest and the frame weights about 1,9kg. Mix between SLX and EL tubes (with the oversized tt) maybe?

p.s. the steerer seems to be too long, so probably not the original fork...

  • agree, not the usual fork. Fork Crown to chrome lug looks odd. Notwithstanding that, there is a ding on the top tube and bb area seems to have taken a bit of a bash...the shipping can just fuck off.

  • Amazing frameset!

If it goes for cheap, do take it and re-paint it or at least protect the exposed areas like the one on the BB shell.

The tubing is custom, but Fondriest is know for quality, and this looks like to be a joy to ride.

  • Shipping seems worse than it actually is. In the article description it says 50$ (44€) within the EU, which is still quite a lot but not as exaggerated as the 89€.
Price went up to 162€ which together with the shipping is above my limit of 200€. Was hoping for a bargain. But I'll pass this time, also since I'm occupied with Uni work. Plus I bought an Olmo Scatto in mint condition last week. It's in fluro-pink and purple and has mad fadez. Gonna build it up with Campa Record Titanium 8 speed. I can open a build thread if there's interest but it's gonna be a rather slow building process due to lack of time...

  • How much did you get the scatto for if you don't mind me asking?

  • Olmo Scatto is nice :)
Do open the thread and don't be worried about being slow

  • I created a (preliminary) build thread with more info. Don't want to hijack this thread... so here you go: https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/285264/

And I just spotted that scam on ebay again, now apparently in Warrington UK, with loads of bids on up to 1200 quid.... Nasty..

If only I had the crankset

  • What should I do if I find something on ebay I think is my stolen property but probably can't prove it.

    I assume I'm stuffed?

  • Why can't you prove it? You don't have any photographic evidence of your ownership (nor proof of purchase, etc) ?

  • It's a saddle. Haven't got any photos that are good enough to cross-ref.

It's a 24 hour listing which appeared 2 days after mine was nicked, shitty description and starting at a tenner. The guy hasn't ever sold anything and he suddenly has two high-end saddles to sell.

  • Tough break, then. If you had photos of it in your possession, had reported it to the police, had a crime ref, and some defining marks then maybe. Even so, it's a saddle, pretty tough. Sorry about that :(

  • Where is he? Win the bid, arrange to meet him, take some huge friends?

  • Win the bid, have him mail it to you, claim through paypal that it never arrived? If you ask him to send it cheaply its unlikely he'll send it tracked

  • Or bring the boys round...

  • I guess that's a win-win. If it isn't mine I get a cheap saddle (assuming it stays around the £10 mark), and if it is then fuck that guy.

  • This happened to me (story here). I called the police and eBay, but neither were able to do anything fast enough (fortunately I had a few distinctive scratches and pictures that identified it as my saddle). In the end I bought it and managed to get a refund through PP.
Report to the police - they may be able to do something. Are you able to PM me a link to the sale? I'm curious if it's the same guy as who sold mine.

  • Yeah I think that's what I'll do. Is there a legitimate way to do it other than to lie about not receiving it? I called the police and have a crime number.

  • The problem I found was that the police (rightly) said that it wasn't up to them to decide if it was mine (that lies with a judge/magistrate/jury), so they couldn't tell eBay to pull the listing. I didn't want to report it, because then it would be lost and my arse would hate me for wasting its pain, so I just bought it (for way over its value, but hey ho). Once I had it, the police still weren't much use at that side of things, although they did arrest some people related and prosecute someone.
If you get it back you may be able to prove its yours, but if you don't have pictures of it elsewhere it will be difficult without it being expensive.
