When I got mine, they did a d-dimer blood test straight away - it's some measure of a protein in the blood that indicates the presence of a clot. When that came back positive it's highly likely there IS a clot and then they schedule an ultrasound for later that day. Once they found the clot, they got me onto the injections... and then forgot about me so I spent a month injecting while I should've been on Warfarin... idiots.
Speaking of which, I still haven't heard anything back from my second round of tests. How do I escalate a request in a hospital?

The Blood pooling in my foot he thought was probably some capillaries that burst on the flight. I've had blood pooling in my foot before, after a knee injury.
Basically, they didn't find a clot, and the rest is a mystery. Let's call it a baker's cyst.
