it has been smiles of late at the famous anfield under kloppyesterdays performance with 10 changes to our first team squad was pretty impressive
the whole team seems to be improving and we now have some confidence in the depth in our squadwe are close to overhauling west ham and are closing in on 4th
what an end to the season is promised -

YNWA!
Ahh the whiff of envy on a Monday morning. I'm really looking forward to your bloke getting underway in his new job. -
• #127031
Envy? Amazing...
We've had our worst season in what, 20 years? And we're still only two spots behind you... You guys really are sick in the head, aren't you? You've had a totally shit season by anyone's standards but you're still talking it up!
Mind blown...

we are close to overhauling west ham
You're hilarious...
I accept that Liverpool fans have had to come to terms with what Brendan did to the team, but this is still an appalling season by their rather inflated estimations.
The assumption that they'll be back up in the thin air of the Prem is laughable when teams like WHU have been able to be as good as they have this season.
So where should West Ham be this season? Assuming that Chelsea/Liverpool/Everton had all been as good as they had in the past we'd be hovering around mid-table which sounds about right.
But they haven't been - their seasons have been largely memorable for all of the wrong reasons, whereas WHU have had a fucking cracker.

Wooosh caught a whopper
Don't tell me you're not at least a little worried about your new manager and deep down you'd rather have Klopp?
-
• #127034
Klopp won't hang around - he'll move on to a big club.
-
• #127035
Klopp has never been a target for Chelsea fans, not deep down or on the surface. You plastics are loosing it again. Robbie Savage is already talking about next season for liverpool contending the title though so I think we all know where you are on the lollercoaster.

Not in the slightest, you're welcome to him...
We'll be fine... It's the end of an era at SB, JT's probably gonna get his P45 so all the old guard will be gone (apart from Branna)... The place needs a shake-up, Conte is apparently a tough disciplinarian and I think that's exactly what we need... It's shocking that we're defending champions, have so much quality in the squad but are playing like a bunch of scared babies...
Let's see what happens...
But don't forget your eighth, that's nothing to carp about... Unless you're a Kopite, clearly...
-
• #127037
His eighth of what?
-
• #127038
Woahh it's like a meltdown in a plastics factory this morning. They're all coming out with their flags nailed to their chests
-
• #127039
We'll be fine...
You hope. A bunch of mercenaries in a chaotically assembled squad and a 'disciplinarian' who can't speak English. What could possibly go wrong?
-
• #127040
The native language of the Chelsea squad is not English. I think there were only 2 native English speaking players in Chelsea's squad yesterday. It's not Italian either, so we're still fucked.

It'll be pretty hard to have a worse season than this one.
Not playing in Europe will give the team more time on the training pitch to get used to Conte's tactics and we should be more prepared for our opposition.
At best it'll be a top four finish.

I think Liverpool will do better next year, I do believe Klopp is a better manager than Brendan, and hopefully they can make the right signings. He has a history of making a good team out of kids, and relative unknowns, and let's face it, Liverpool can't compete in the Chelsea/Man City price range.
But I also think the "big" teams that did poorly this year will do better. City, Utd and Chelsea will all have new coaches, and I expect at least Spurs to keep up their form. Will Leicester and West Ham? who knows.
All in all I think this was a freak year, lots of disruption in the established teams, but I expect a more familiar looking table next year.
In the end, we should be happy we have such a competitive league, where any of 5-7 teams (if you include Leicester and Liverpool) will be starting the year with expectation of winning the title.
I don't think we will, but I know under Klopp I'll enjoy the ride.

Boro are at Burnley tomorrow for the first of our 2 showdown games (Brighton at home on the last day of the season).
It'll be painfully to fuck it up from here

• #127045
Isn't the new TV deal meaning the smaller clubs will be able to compete on salaries and transfers
-
• #127046
Looks like it will be a sell-out. Annoyed it's not on tv as I can't make it up there and back without taking time off.
Was a bit nervy on Saturday, I think that last minute Boro goal had knocked the fans off the stride a bit, but it was another one that we ground out. We're solid more than anything, unbeaten in 19 games and just keep plugging away.
I imagine we'll have one change at most even though we're playing Saturday, Tuesday, Friday. We're not big on squad rotation.
-
• #127047
Yes. Finished on Saturday.

• #127048
How can you stop when you never started?
-

soon

• #127050
Harsh.
But according to Joleon Lescott it's what they needed.
Another victory for Liverpool. Very happy with our progress under Klopp thus far. Aside from a couple of shockers it been mostly smiles
