  • Looks kinda familiar...

  • why's that? i hope it's not a stolen bike or anything.. bought it locally (hungary), not from the forum

  • Nah I just had something similar that now resides with @branwen

Although that had the yellow -> green fadez, not green -> yellow

  • ah.. scared me there for a bit.. how was the fatty? easy to live with? i read all the horror stories and i'd like to belive it's good stuff..

  • Fatty is rad. Does yours work? Three things to check its health: does it hold air, does it lock out (with minimal play) and when it goes through its travel is it buttah smooooothe

    Great forks, pretty bomb proof.

Just check the rubber boot for holes or you enter a world of pain

  • it seems to hold air, it locks out with minimal play (way less than gf's rockshox reba) and it is smooth, although i think there's some air in the oil.. faint squishy sounds when pumping it.

i'll not be able to resist the urge, i'll take it apart soon enough. how do bearings and races hold up?

  • noice :) any problems since owning it or still solid?

  • I've only had it a month, so nothing to report. But seeing as @Howard seems to know more about these things than Cannondale themselves now, I expect it should last well.
Love the way it rolls along, pretty nippy for a MTB

  • i'll not be able to resist the urge, i'll take it apart soon enough. how do bearings and races hold up?

Have a look for my Lefty servicing thread, that might persuade you otherwise.

how do bearings and races hold up?

In principle the telescope is very reliable. Two things to watch out for. Water getting past the boot (or in through the top cap) and oil coming from the damper, as this will wash the telescope grease out.

If you look after the telescope it will out-live the damper and air spring.

However, keep an eye on the available travel because the roller bearings can 'migrate' and limit the available travel. To fix this requires the castle tool as the damper has to come out.

although i think there's some air in the oil.. faint squishy sounds when pumping it.

Yes - that's common, yet the lock-out still functions which is hydraulic. If you can post the damper off to a service center because you can really mess them up if you don't know what you are doing and...replacements are not cheap or might not be available at all depending on the age of the fork.

    What year is it?

  • cant stahp, dunt wunt to neever

  • Someone on the local facebook swaps group is selling this... SO rad

  • Dat paint

    Ummmf

  • no clue really.. it is now resting (and will be for a while) as i don't have time to deal with it.

no reliable cdale service centre here. and i don't really trust any shop with my stuff. i service my bikes for myself and if i manage to fuck anything up, i only got myself to blame.

don't want to go through what you had to deal with regarding the lefty..

  • this is how mine is now with some upgrades. Waiting for 38mm 24h 23mm wide tubeless ready china carbons on 771 772

had a flue for a week now so havent got a chance to ride it yet (further than food shop / uni), but most likely going to get -17 x2 or something

i'd guess it is around 8,5-8,6kg at the moment. should be close to 8,0 with new wheels. Def with new stem as well

  • Where did you get the upgraded wheels from? Sound pretty good

  • @branwen

they are still to arrive. From the same ebay guy I got my rychtarski-hhsb-wheels from: cn-carbon. I know farsports and light bicycle have better rims but cn carbon costs way less. Before the tax gamble I paid 340e for those when farsports quoted me for 590 dollars + 100 shipping for wheels with marginally better rim design (no brake track and few millimeters wider inner. Same weight 1650)

  • 340eur! fuck that is cheap. let me know how you get on. eager to upgrade my disc wheels (not keen on tubeless though)

  • hmm sorry, it was 365 not 340. Relatively cheap anyways. Been really happy how bombproof and light those track wheels are, so eager to see how those disc road do

  • still very cheap indeed

  • caad12 is nice.

  • Facebook kills quality

  • Cross post from current projects. This rides amazingly for a 15 year old(?) frame
