But seriously, the break's been caught with 12k to go. Kwiatkowski out the back.
-
• #7453
Adjusting speed sensor maybe?
-
• #7454
Breakaway has been caught, 12k to go. Kwia has been dropped and is out of contention, Orica is controlling the race with 5 men in the front.
-
• #7455
OGE on the front incl. Hayman.
-
• #7456
According to the team twitter he was fiddling with his brake.
-
• #7457
That was shit.
-
• #7458
great year for old men
-
• #7459
Why? AGR always great to watch
-
• #7460
Virtually no action, a couple of half arsed attacks, and then they let Gasparotto ride away.
-
• #7461
Maybe is not about letting him go but not being able to match him?
Lots of big names appeared to be pretty knackered before the 20km to go.
Probably thanks to the earlier adverse weather -
• #7462
no it's always the same, you can just watch the last 5k
wonder why though, there's plenty of tough climbs, small roads and corners to enable decisive attacks, but the peloton always does the same thing

No-one wanted to sprint against Matthews, so weren't prepared to close the gap, which was easily closed if one or two teams committed, and, once again, a lack of unity meant Orica didn't take on the responsibility.
I bet Matthews had choice words for Gerrans on the bus. Again.

That "joint leaders" thing doesn't really work for OGE does it
-
• #7465
#ScrewTheHaterz - I enjoyed that end to AGR. Always love seeing another old guy steal a win particularly for Wanty Group Group Gobert.
-
• #7466
Gerrans clearly doesn't respect Matthews. If he'd committed to riding they'd have closed the gap, instead he rode for himself and they didn't.
-
• #7467
Which Gerrans does everytime. It's comical
-
• #7468
I didn't even notice Gerrans in the final few k. I saw Hayman keeping the pace up and then Albacini burying himself for Matthews then... Nothing? Matthews boxed in somewhere toward the back of the group. Did Gerrans even give it a go for himself?
-
• #7469
Another win for the old randoms.
-
• #7470
I think it's clear now how much they dislike each other, Gerrans didn't even cover any of the attacks, it was Bling who was the closest chaser as Valgren and Gasparotto went over, and then Gerrans was Awol when the chase was on

"Where's my disc brake gone? ARRRGH!"
-
• #7473
When Australians don't win it's a good thing, especially for this thread
-
• #7474
Except that he was the only one in the front bunch that already won AGR!
-
• #7475
Not a lot. A bunch of mamils tearing through Luxembourg or something.
