Worth checking but every time I got a replacement they insist on putting your Sim card in it which locks it out

Thanks for that. My phone is currently unlocked as I bought it outright so assuming they will need to give me like for like. I probably won't put my sim in it as planning on selling it as new.

The carrier will be locked to whatever the original was sold as and will need to be activated before it will connect to any network. If your original phone was unlocked you'll be ok, if not unfortunately the carrier setting will be associated with the new imei code.
If you bought the phone as new and unlocked you'll be fine, however if bought on contact it's unlikely.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.However. You can phone your network provider and have them unlock the phone for you usually for a small fee. It can take a while and you'll need to activate the phone, restore it and re-activate in order for the carrier lock to be removed.

Thanks - bought outright unlocked. Shouldn't have any problems.

Correct. If an unlocked phone is being replaced, it'll remain unlocked regardless of any sim being put in it

I now have the new (unlocked) iPhone in my possession. A potential buyer I had fell through. Any takers at £400?

Phone now sold.
I have an issue with my phone so the kind people at Apple have offered to replace it for me this week with a new one. I actually want to upgrade, so wanted to see if anyone wants to take it off my hands. Just gauging interest at this stage.
The store told me it will be essentially new, but might contain one old part within it.
It would come with a 90 day warranty and I can drop off in London, even at the apple store in Covent Garden on the day I collect it.
Looking for £450, but a bit out of the loop on prices of these so if that's outrageous (or not enough!) let me know.
Cheers, Tom
