• The carrier will be locked to whatever the original was sold as and will need to be activated before it will connect to any network. If your original phone was unlocked you'll be ok, if not unfortunately the carrier setting will be associated with the new imei code.
    If you bought the phone as new and unlocked you'll be fine, however if bought on contact it's unlikely.

    However. You can phone your network provider and have them unlock the phone for you usually for a small fee. It can take a while and you'll need to activate the phone, restore it and re-activate in order for the carrier lock to be removed.
