I'd always irrationally hated Cannondale, but now it's not irrational. Yay! Dicks.

Hehe. Yeah they're fugly, and I tried switching them out for some compact drops but the shape of the tops definitely helps with circulation. I wonder if Ugg do cycling shoes?
Between new seatpost/stem configuration I've moved myself back 3cm, I've had my online bike fit measurements for a while and used them with success over many bikes but hadn't realised I was so off on this one-prob cos I made a switch to inline/smp since doing it. Will see after the next ride anyway.

Beyond the shorter lower leg and some damping tuning I didn't think Oliver was dramatically different to lefty 2.0 and whatnot. There will be some road specific tuning - the air chamber will be sized to be extremely progressive.

I reserve similar ire for retailors who will sell you something that isn't in stock.
In other news Bespoke has confirmed that no, CSG will not order me in a 165mm crank.

that is fucking cool. If i get a job at a bank I will buy one

(probably the tiny tiny knob doesn't do much in muddy and rough environment)
heard that before
-
• #4983
You too? I thought I was the only one.
-
• #4984
is there something special about caad headtubes or does a headset top like this work?
-
• #4985
might need some fiddling with microspacers of course
-
• #4986
I used a top cap from a low stack campag hiddenset rather than the huge one that came with the caad one; the campag has a different profile so doesn't quite accommodate the bearing in the same way and there would have been a tiny gap without using the rubber shield that came with the Caad one.
Tl:dr: it might work depending on fiddling

• #4987
Tester cap?
-
• #4989
out of stock and doesn't say it fits CAAD- think evos/sixes have a 1.1/4" top bearing.
-
• #4990
yeah I went to my lbs and they gave me a supersix bearing cap. It turned out to be too large. Used a random 15mm conical I found from parts bin with 5 microspacers, including one I cut out of a beer can
might have to go 5mm later but I'll try with this setup first.

Finally got my CAAD 10 built. Happy with everything, although had another last minute purchase (stem this time). Will probably take the logo off that at some point. Boring black bike is black.
I think that having a 24mm crank shaft, and the 160 mm rear rotor gave me better cable run than @swedeee 's ill-fated cable build, has enough space to go over the crankshaft, not under. And one other thing, using these v-brake noodles should give a good cable line if anyone else is having issues with the caliper being at a tight angle

Now just bin the valve caps ;)

Nice build!
Wheel ID? -

Heh, you're the second person who's asked that. DT Swiss R23 DB. All the branding, even the hubs, is with stickers, which makes it easy to remove. (I actually quite liked the branding, but too noisy!)

Ver' nice. Is what I'd probably have liked to build myself if I'd the readies.
And another SMP with non-layback post-someone said upthread that you're not supposed to do this?
-
• #4996
depends on your body. If i recall steve hogg has said something like smp requiring 10-15mm less setback. Not zero setback post per se
-
• #4997
Yeah that, just less set back than a normal saddle
-
• #4998
I approve.
-
• #4999
Where from? I want a pair, decent weight and decent ££ from what I can tell but no where has stock =[
-

It's an individual thing, some people may need layback, some don't.
What is necessary is to move the saddle 10-15mm forward than your old conventionally saddle, maybe even more since not all saddle are the same.
