  • I'm guessing you did sound work on QB then?

  • Maybe.

  • wand of woh finally dropped in D3.

    i have wasted my life.

  • Yes, but at least you have D3.

  • At least you have a wand #euph?

  • Yes! Hopefully get US figures soon also.

Apparently this is the first Xbone game to top the charts.

  • I could help possibly - what sort of help are you after? (PP editor, 10+yrs exp etc)

  • Shame MS screwed up Quantum Break on PC so badly (to the point they are giving no questions asked refunds)

  • Bizarrely I've actually managed to do almost all of it today and yesterday but PM me if you fancy as we always have loads of editing on. I might need 3 short trailers cut next week for a food project (not Malaysian :) ).

(I'd been having some problems exporting - constant Unknown Error Compiling Movie. Possibly due to multi format timelines, possibly corrupt frames, possibly something to do with graphics card (sometimes software only exports worked). Terrifying after two months of shooting and poor post producing by me leaving it till the last minute... Repacked it all as prores this weekend at the office and seems good for now. Have until Thurs to finish the rest. Did 5 x 10 minute edits today and yesterday without any time codes or anything - mrs CYOA came in with a transcript and we smashed through it all together #thugwife)

  • Ahh, sounds like the standard up against it fun times! Why software always has to break on deadline I'll never know. Will PM you.

  • hit lvl 30 in the division yesterday thanks to a day sat at home bunged up with man-flu just in time for the massive update that unlocks loads of cool new shit for lvl 30 players.

am really enjoying how i can play solo for the smaller missions and just potter about collecting shit if i want then i can join up with a team and storm my way through the big storyline set pieces.

have 2 more "zones/boroughs" to work through until I finish and asides from my first incursion into the dark zone I've not been back in so have all of that to work through as well.

play timer says i'm at just over 2 days so so far has been pretty worthwhile in terms of value for money too.

  • At the moment I am playing Dark Souls III - Prepare to Download Day 1 Patch edition

  • Steam controller. Tried it on a few games. Not super easy to get used to. Will give it more time. Its good it works a a mouse though so I can launch steam without keyboard and mouse...

  • I'd love to try one, seems like a really good concept, but pricey

  • Platinumed THPS5 this morning, not a glitchy buggy mess I was led to believe.
Not great though, levels are small and repetitive.
Bit of a slog, glad I've finished it.

Going to pick up Heavy Rain / Beyond Two Souls the weekend

  • The switching between solo/group is what's keeping me going.

It is still a bit grindy - go somewhere/shoot someone/toggle switch etc but it is fun. Group play can be excellent but the ability to solo a lot of stuff really helps when levelling. Haven't really given any attention to DZ yet.

Looking forward to (hopefully) inevitable Central Park add on - though I resent the season pass/subscription mentality that games (everything) have resorted to.

Currently L12 - uPlay name is: eltname

  • Just found out Everybody's Gone to the Rapture is available on Steam. Have any PS4ers done it?

  • Bought and installed Rapture already. Impossible to resist a game based in a 1984 Shropshire village.

New Doom multiplayer open beta up for grabs too. Downloading on Steam now, believe PS4 and EggBox versions also available.

  • Awesome! gonna get jt

  • After ragequitting Dark Souls 2 ages ago I have started a magic build, hoping to get to at least the 1st boss this time.

Currently I'm an hour in and have done did all.

Also I look like the Joker and dual wield daggers for generally running about

  • What do you think of DS3? Worth buying a new console for?

  • Not really. Bloodbourne, on the other hand ... !

I think I'm being spoiled by starting Bloodbourne so recently, but it just feels so much more developed. In terms of gameplay/combat it feels far more fluid and dynamic and whilst the lore is still fairly impenetrable (and there is plenty of depth), the world has enough of its own internal logic to work on the surface.

Going back to DaS3, combat feels very boring, and limited. Rolling feels far less controlled than the quick step in Bloodbourne, and backstabs are too easy. I find myself just hiding behind a shield and getting behind people because it seems like the best way to play (not just the easiest). Compared to the parry mechanic in Bloodbourne it seems far more dull.
(the only shield in the game has this item description, which is great, but in DaS the combat just isn't flexible/responsive enough to work without a shield)

A crude wooden shield used by the masses who have arisen to join the hunt. Hunters do not normally employ shields, ineffectual against the strength of the beasts as they tend to be. Shields are nice, but not if they engender passivity

The world in DaS3 is nicer than in 2, and seems more connected rather than just a series of linked together levels, but it still just seems ... odd. I'm getting a bit bored of the same vague intro cinematic and another new world/era/location with no connection to the past. Compared to BB there are many more varied locations, and mobs, but they all feel a bit arbitrary, and for all the variety of the mobs, they all feel very similar.

TL:DR the PS4 is getting cheaper now, and it seems a good system. Bloodbourne is amazing, really, and worth it. DaS3 is fine, but I'd be tempted to wait for a while and get the DLC and everything when its about ~£30. Its definitely not worth £75 that they are charging now for the game+season pass

  • Cheers for that. Will wait a whole longer ☺
