Looks like this will be completed quite quickly. Looks great. Why not get some R785 levers and go disc?

I saw Matt a couple of months ago, was expecting a lead time of 4-6 months, but due to the guy letting him down I got bumped up the queue so that he could use it next week for Bespoked.
On brakes, it was aesthetic. I don't like the look of discs, the original plan when building in steel was to have the rear brake mounted TT style on the underside of the chainstays, leaving the wishbone seat stay and rear triangle nice and clean. When it changed to carbon, Matt advised putting the brake on the seat stay and went with it.
Am I going to be changing this in a couple of years?

Looking forward to seeing this. Sounds like a great build!

purely out of curiosity how much is this likely to weigh?

I'm not sure, Matt's is about 6.4kgs, but the top and down tubes are bigger on mine and I'm bigger. Late 6s early 7s I suspect.

Doing its time in the jig while the steel and carbon set. Should be out and getting painted early next week.
Sadly the original paint idea isn't going to work, so Matt is trying to figure out something new. Turns out popping 3D cubes on a round tube and making it fit in with the whole bike is seriously difficult! Always knew it would be a long shot so not too bothered.

Fantastic frame. Needs black tyres though. Why Volvo? Prancing moose is amazing.

Looks nice! looking forward to seeing it tonight.
I have a very fancy set of wheels in my kitchen that i think are going on it for the show.I really dont get Matt's obsessions with Volvo though.... He's a bit of a Volvo weirdo. ( meant in the best possible way, of course!)

The paint is a special volvo paint (?)

Wheels and brakes are temporary, it's setup as Matt wants it for Bespoked. That and I'm a dick and forgot a skewer and brakes when dropping everything off in a hungover fug last saturday.
Wheels will be the 40mm Carbones below and some DA9000 brakes.
As far as I know, the Volvo sign is a decal that can be removed, he mentioned something about a photo shoot with his V70. He got the paint out last weekend when Mrs Bumperoo was there, once sanctioned by her Matt just went for it. It's not a flat black paint job with popping geometric shapes, but I'm really happy with it. Suspect the other could have looked a bit weird.

First go at a CP thread, to be fair most of the building isn't mine.....
After a year or so of unwellness, and having sold my Dale to TallTim, it was time to get something new. I thought I would go custom and build a once in lifetime bike, I'm not likely to get a sanctioned opportunity again.
After looking at lots of builders and reading through countless reviews, lots on here and elsewhere, Matt at Talbot was who I wanted to go with. I think his bikes have all the right attributes, they look incredible and everyone has raved about how well they ride, so thought I would take the leap and order one.
I went to see Scherrit first and got a bike fit, this would give Matt a set of touch points to work off and allow him to get the geometry correct. Then it was on to Matt. I want to be able to sit on the bike all day and churn through the miles on this, so aggressive wasn't what I was going for. This has resulted in lots of seat post, and a sloped top tube to allow comfortable reach. The bike was going to have a steel frame with a composite ISP, similar to Hoops. But it has changed a bit, due to good fortune on my part and Matt needing a bike for Bespoked after someone pulled out, it will now have carbon composite rear end and tubes with steel lugs, essentially the Composite Dalsnibba, similar to the one he has.
Lots of the parts on the bike will be from my old bike and then extras I have picked up, list below.
Frame: Talbot - Composite Dalsnibba
Fork: Enve 2.0
Saddle: SMP Dynamic
Bottom Bracket: White Industries T47
Cockpit: Enve 44cm Bars, 110mm Stem
Headset: Chris King
Groupset: Shimano Dura Ace Di2 9070
Shifters: Shimano Dura Ace Di2 9070
Chainset: Cannondale Hollowgram SiSL2, Spidering, 11 Speed
Cassette: Shimano Dura Ace 9000, 11-25, 11-speed
Brakeset: Shimano Dura Ace 9000
Brake Levers: Shimano DI2 9070
Wheelset: Mavic Cosmic Carbone 40 WTS with Mavic Yksion
Pedals: Speedplay Zero
Paint Design: I've left the below with Matt as an idea. He has a style and I don't really want to get too involved with how he executes it. Given his ideas when I went and saw him, it should be killer.

That's kind of it for now, really excited to get my hands on it and get out riding.
