  • Even though both of these are lovely, since the arrival of my stache 5, they are never going to get used, so are being sold......I hate selling things though.

First up is my titanium Airborne (Lancaster?).
I attempted to sell this before, but my heart wasn't in it.....it's a large size and very sprightly!
It's designed for 26" wheels, but I successfully ran it with 29er wheels with cyclocross tyres.......Prices:
Frame in excellent condition - £250
Manitou R7 absolute fork- £80 (this was £800 new!)
Chris king 1 1/8th headset in red (some rub, but not noticeable when fitted) -£50
I need to find out which model numbers the xt chainset and xtr mechs are....prices after.
Next up is my fantastic Transition Trans Am two9. This is steel.....
It's a large again, and can be had with surly ECR fork with anything cages. This is currently set up with a surly knard 3.0 tyre on the front (the lighter version) and a X-King 2.4 rear.
It has a very good condition XTR m960 crankset, with nearly new Middle and inner rings....they cost mucho dinero! The front mech is XTR and the rear is Sram X7 or 9....I can't remember. It has Deore brakes on it, which perform the task admirably. The seatpin is a 30.9 hope eternity, and it will have a different saddle on it...probably a WTB rocket. I will also be keeping the current bars, but have a selection of wide flat/riser/sweepy ones to replace them with. I have a recon silver suspension fork if you would rather, but it won't take the surly knard.
I would like £500 for this and I think that is a bit of a bargain.....

    SOLD

    I'll upload a few pictures.
I can post the smaller bits, but would like collection on the larger ones....I'm up near Stansted airport, on the Liverpool street line. I could possibly deliver for diesel costs, but I'm not paying the congestion tax!

  • As Pats work mate and neighbour, I can vouch that these bikes are in first class order. Pat loves his bikes and most evenings there's a dimly lit garage where you can find him fettling! Even I'll be sorry to see the airborne go, the garage won't be the same ;-)

  • Ha! Hiya mate...how's the 'clavicle error' going? :0)
There will be more going from the magical mancave soon too......I'm culling down to four bikes.....stache, salsa, mercian and of course the Hetchins......everything else will be moving on.
This is the trouble with being flat out on the couch with manflu......you start to think stupid thoughts!

  • After selling all these bikes you'll have loads of dollar to buy some more. The cycle of life.

  • I have 12 to shift.......plus loads of spares and lovely trinkets.

    I must resist more hoarding!

  • You don't even have a fatbike yet!

  • Wait, neither do I....

  • I have semi! Not a euph!!

  • Collar bone is well on the mend. Been out today/yesterday for the first time. Vibration through the bars makes it ache afterwards. Sorry to hear you're crook m8, sorry to hear you're having a clear out. The garage won't be the same :-( I won't come round anymore ;-)

  • I'll probably have some other other old toot in there!
    Don't fall off!

  • Any pics of airborne from the drive side?
Any 8 speed chainsets(xt, lx) that you intend to clear out? Thanks

  • Here ha go....

No 8 speed I'm afraid.....I built 2 konas up for my sister and nephew with that stuff.....

  • I can't make out in the photos, but does that Trans Am have either the adjustable or swappable dropouts that allow you to run it as a singlespeed?

    They currently have these.

Earlier ones had these, which I think yours might be.

  • Good point mate, they are the same as your 2nd photo...currently it is set for 135 QR, but you can buy the other drop outs for 142 or single speed and simply bolt them on. I can't remember if mine is a 2012 or 2013 model.....

  • Pm's replied to :0)

  • Hey Pat, is there an option for buying the complete airborne with the 29 cyclocross wheels?

    Thanks Rob

  • There is chap, I don't think I'll be needing them, and have a mass of wheels that I need to sell.....if you pop over, most of the other parts are available too.

  • Pm me and let's try to sort out something

  • Things have gone quiet....I'm shit at selling stuff. Price drop £20 off the airborne, £25 off the Transition.....I've also got a bike box that I bought off TS, formally of this country, but now residing diametrically opposite, countrywise...apparently, it's been around the world several times, and I used it for Leroica twice. I fixed the broken castors, and heat moulded some plastic to reinforce the base.... For this I would like back what I paid, £75..... Let's keep it in the forum!

  • Box....

  • Pat how are the "sales" going? I've been round to the garage (just now) several times and haven't seen you. Got some lovely new veloflex masters for the condor. I'm sure the rear tyre will last 500 miles if I'm lucky, but when they're "gumwall, italian handmade loveliness", who gives a fuck. Text me when you're next in the garage m8 and I'll let you touch them ;-)

  • Ooooo.....veloflex gumwalls!
I've got some of those on my posh wheels!
A few interested PM's, someone is coming on Monday, I think.....

Don't fall off in this ice and snow! :0)

  • Could be interested in the bike box, can I fit a pine mountain 1 in it do you reckon?

  • Sorry @jv , just seen your post... I should imagine that you could....it's a roomy box. I used it for my Hetchins, but had other clothes and tools in there too.
You are welcome to come and try!

  • Transition sold....nice to meet you Chris, I'm sure you'll have a blast on it! I'll miss that one....
