No it's not, limiting line of sight raises the level of risk. It is a driver's responsibility to drive at a speed appropriate to the conditions, but given your attitude to speeding too...
You are deferring the responsibility to the vulnerable road user, failing to realise who ought to be taking the due care.
You know how you solve this as a pedestrian, cross somewhere where you line of sight isn't obstructed. For christsakes, it making mountains out of molehills.
