Are they banning disc brakes from the motorbikes too?

Spokes is death.
I know you meant it as a joke but I've seen a rider put their knee into the spokes on the front wheel on the track.
Messy.

I did know of such incidents, and many others.
UCI decision is fucking stupid, especially when a team already spend time and money converting their equipment for disc, now have to revert back to originals.

"Suspends" not "bans." There will be a period of reflection then dics'll be back...

They're quite happy to do the square root of fuck all when it comes to regulating motorbikes in the race convoy to improve rider safety, despite lots of incidents culminating in the death of a rider, but can leap into action when one rider has an injury that might have been caused by a disc.
Priorities, guys, priorities.
I wonder how much power the UCI has to regulate motos at races ? Eg with relations always tense with ASO, I wonder how an edict from the UCI limiting motos at the TdeF would go down.
Disc brake suspension much easier for the UCI to bring in, the bike industry doesn't seem to have much sway there. -

alternative to the chainring doesn't exist
Nope, but they could use one of these:

Those rotors are normally several times wider than bicycle rotors.
I'm more concerned about their instability and copious mass.

Ha, "this tool is essential. "
Asks various pros "don't do what you did in this article, frames should come faced or be faced by retailers if QC is off."
verdict; "this tool is essential." -

Hmmm weird.

BUY THIS SHIT NOW OR YOUR BIKE WILL EXPLODE, DISCS ARE DANGEROUS!
-
• #1640
I tweeted saying this should be handle in a bike shop, and then got some guys who's a self proclaimed home mechanic saying it's 100% fine.

Cost of paying your lbs to do this rather than buy the tool to diy.
Normally the justification for a tool is that you'll get your monies worth versus paying your lbs to do the work. How many disc mounts are you gonna need facing? My Genesis came faced. -
• #1642
remember the time when rim brakes were fine and they stopped you fine?
good times

My Genesis came faced.
That's the thing, the majority of customers buy bike from LBS, if it's not faced, then the mechanic at the LBS will do it for free.

It was a great afternoon.

remember the time when rim brakes were fine and they stopped you fine?
Remember when you have to replace your wheels every time the rims get worn out?
Good times, lots of $$$ for me.

good times
You're also aware that calipers brake mount need to be faced as well, right? have to do some every once in a while at work.

Not good ol' cantis though.

Calling 2018 spring summer prolly trend

Remember the time when disc brakes were more powerful, easier to modulate, worked in wet conditions and the consumables weren't expensive?

lel
And roads. If the roads weren't there then there wouldn't be half as many injuries.
C'mon UCI, get your shit together.
