  • I bought a used one off someone in a bike shop, via the TTF I think.

    I thought there were other lengths but I wanted the short one so didn't really look much.

  • What's the difference between the shaded shapes (left) and the dotty shapes (right)?

  • If the article is to be believed it actually makes the wheel more aero than if there was no mudguard. It also makes it look fugly as hell though.

  • The more aerodynamic your front wheel is, the greater the impact of the front guard. A 45mm guard is almost guaranteed to catch the entire tyre-wake. Making the rear of the guard less round might.

    The airflow's pretty messy by the time you pass the seat tube, so the rear guard itself probably won't change much, but the fittings might if the rest of the setup is clean.

    I decided against the Trek SC. It's too much money. Better to get a cheaper frame and splash the few pennies I have on better watt savings than a frame. Though I did want the box so I can put an innertube in it :(

    I intend to get that P2 of TT forum.

    So I will build with Di2 components.

    What else should I get? Cheaper the better.

    I have a tub tri spoke, so a clincher jet 9 will be last on the list ish.
    I have raltech covers, so a hed jet disc will be lower on list.

    I need, total front end (handlebars), brakes. Okay so only 2 things. Which should I get?
    Cheaper the better, but front end is a good place to buy speed.

    Also skinsuits. Is an no pinz going to be better than a castelli bodypaint with well pinned numbers?

  • If you want it cheap, don't use Di2. Friction shifters are fine, especially for shorter stuff.

    What do you get included with the P2? Do you need wheels, etc?

    I have a set of Shiv bars (with the adapters that don't kill you) sitting on my dining table.

    They ain't cheap though and I was going to use them on the PX to replace the older PRO bars.

    Fast people ride Castelli. Fast people ride NoPinz. Good luck getting data without paying £££ testing or buying both and DIYing with Aerolab.

    I didn't like the fit of Castelli so went with NoPinz.

  • P2, TriRig Omegas, Tulas. Single chainring, grind off the FD mount. Fast bike.

    NoPinz suit is as fast or faster than BP3, and it won't fall apart at the sight of a pin.

  • I can get all the di2 stuff cheap. So it's pretty cost effective. Also I much prefer di2. So worth the little more.

    I could do with wheels, but only to get clincher, see my post. I have tri spoke tub already and raltech covers.

    I saw some USE tula bars on ebay, wonder if they're the best bet. (spesh way to spendy)

    I've got a DA AX brake that @umop3pisdn freecycled (+ post) to me: same to you.

    Or a centre-pull Tektro (I think) that was OE on a 2014 Felt B12: marked R725 but a quick Google says they're U-brakes. £15 + post? No brake pads or holders, but I might have something in "the box".

  • Yeah nopinz seems good so I can do my own number as I am perminent loner.

    Grinding off FD sounds fun! But I might ride some SPOCOS and train on it, so not so good. Unless it saves me WATTS!?

  • I actually think I have some of those R725 in my spares chest. I'll look! Thanks for reminding me.

  • Tubs are cheap, because they're shit (#troll) so you're not likely to find many cheap clinchers but keep an eye on ebay. I have an S80 kicking around that I scored off ebay years ago so stuff does appear. Also have a set of 404 Powertap clinchers from someone on here years ago so again, just need to keep an eye out but they don't come up much and aren't usually cost effective.

    Probably better off spending time with aerolab on your position than buying stuff to be honest. Problem is, no one wants to hear that because testing is a ball ache compared to just buying new shit. :)

    Tula bars are meant to be decent but lack adjustability. If you can get them to work though they should be good.

  • Hmm, thinking about it I've got a Sitero saddle, a Dash saddle, a Spinstix skewer, aero bottle mount options, lots of test tyres, aerobars, aero wheels, chainrings, cranks, aero brake calipers, skinsuits... all I need is a frame and I could build up a decent TT bike! :P
