You could have fitted much fatter tyres in there!
-
• #9453
and you could have used gears :-P
(i don't have a road bike)

I'd rather have fat tyres than gears. Good ride though.

Rode the Newmarket sportive yesterday; first 100mi ride since I was a teenager.
Summary: wet, cold, 2 p***tures and gloves failure; 7 hrs 20.
Conti GP4ks felt a bit lively in those conditions but I suspect most other tyres would also.
No coffee at the start. Other than that, 5/7; would ride again.

Ooo,nice weather today. I think I'll ride up through London Village today from East to West and back again.
I smile a lot, have long hair and a rubbish bike so should be easy to spot. If you see me feel free to say hello/get a hair cut/get a better bike etc etc etc :)Onwards. To Lundinium!

Does anyone have a scenic traffic free London-Cambridge route they can send my way? Pls!

Caught a train to Pitlochry and cycled back to Glasgow. 170km, with about 20 inadvertant KMs of gravel and worse. Nice scenery though.

Southern XC round at Checkendon cancelled on the morning. Decided to ride to it anyhow and see if the course was open. Met a few people who'd not got the message and driven quite a way. Organiser let me ride the course. Awesome slop and a great tight course with drops, bridges, roots etc. Loads of front wheel slides and fun. Rode back. Let bike dry in the sun and managed to clean it dry with a stiff brush though the drivetrain needed some water.

Big up yourself to whoever thought it would be a great idea to sprinkle drawing pins all over the Lea Navigation towpath somewhere near Old Ford. I'd taken the kids out for a bit of family bonding bike ride. I picked up 3 punctures and the youngest got one. Long walk back for a 10 year old; thanks, man.
Managed to get a friend to pick up the kids from the ice rink and I rode my daughter's bike the rest of the way home.

I did warn other cyclists who we passed heading in that direction. I doubt we were the only ones who suffered from this clever trick.

Lovely lovely ride in Darent Valley in Kent. So many gorgeous lanes and interesting features. Terrific ride.
Also discovered a sharp climb i didn't know about - Botsom Lane - and was pleased to find i still have my fixed climbing legs despite not putting them to use in a while. -
