  • I had a can of the Crate Black IPA today, it's a very moreish slightly sweeter cross between a standard IPA and a stout. I think. Very decent anyway. Bloody expensive though at £3.50 a can from Crate premises.

  • From what I've heard it has horrendous branding

  • You could say that...

  • Your local is awesome

It is. Although it's is a city centre pub it's 15 minutes on the 72. Local enough.

    Also the Duchesse is AWESOME!

  • I'm friends with any pub that has Cannonball on tap.

I bought a big ol bottle of Duchesse back from Belgium

  • I carried as much beer as I could back from Belgium. Managed to burst a tin of Rodenbach in the X-ray machine at Eurostar.

  • Whoops

There's supposedly a 12 bottle per person limit on the Eurostar but I don't think they check really. They didn't specify size so me and Simon bought back as many big ones as we could carry. Think we had 23, still feel rubbish that we didn't get a 24th to be on the limit.

  • Bugeye by BAD Co.

    Seriously good.

  • Untapped ID is Sworld if anyone fancies adding me?

  • Added, Kat Balou if anyone wants to add me

  • I suspect this is right, I brought back 40+ bottles in November, I just split it between all our luggage.

  • LBS has the 4 new Buxton bottles in today...

Must not... drink... all... at... once...

  • I stepped out of client HQ yesterday in Brussels and outside - saw - BrewDog!!! Would you believe it...seconds later I've a glass of Punk IPA in hand.

  • Drinking Punk IPA in Belgium shakes head

Did a geeky stock take of the beers we have in the spare room, got 80! Must start drinking more.

  • Picked up...

    Barrel aged Double Axe x2
    King Maker
    Un-human Cannonball
Five-0's Ripper (local, very small scale brewer)

Just opened a Double Axe. Sweeter than the original, slight redish tint. Dangerously drinkable.

  • What do you count as LBS?

  • Beermoth, nice but a bit pricey

  • Just bumped into @andy_k outside my LBS as I looked for a locking spot. Hope you have good evening in the 'hood.

    Picked up:
Double Axe (Barrel Aged) - Buxton
    Extra Porter (Coffee) - Buxton
Human Cannonball (passed on a bottle of Unhuman, it's the last of 18 he had got in)
    Sadako - Weird Beard
    Rubaeus - Founders

Could easily have gone crazy on the Buxton Belgian Series & the UHC of course.

Carribean Chocolate Cake from the cupboard to drink tonight.

  • Mega jealous

I'm at a thing in London called hawker house for a friend's engagement drinks. The beers are ridiculously overpriced. Cans of Black Betty are £6.50! I'm on the whiskey cocktails.

  • Local has barrels of human and un-human cannonball getting ready downstairs! :D

They are also doing this at the end of the month.

  • Opened Buxton's King Maker/Double Ace Edge, slightly lively pour but smells while it settles...

  • I presume Beavertown Brewery's been covered previously in this thread? If not, Neck Oil Session IPA's rather tasty...

  • ^^ How was it once settled?

    ^ Yup, v.nice.

DIPA, v.hazy. Like canal water. Big flavours, much Mango.

  • I liked it a lot, possibly more than the BA Double Axe. Will have to try both again to be sure...

  • Wetherspoons has Meantime Chocolate Stout bottles in the fridge! 0_O
