he could give it away to the poor people
then both parties could escape the trap -
• #40004
Yeah, I think I'm gonna give all my poverty away and be wealthy from now on.

Are you not placated? What must CCHQ do to assure you that everything he did is legal, and therefore by extension moral, and therefore by extension it is immoral to attack him.

Where's your empathy you sadistic fuck, the man is suffering here.

Devils advocate.
Better the devil you know?
ie. Where would we be now if Labour had got in?

In COMMUNIST SOVIET RUSSIA obv... ;)
But yes, people overvalue things they have over a change, a well known psychological phenomenon. Which is fine if it's a bicycle, not so fine if the gov pisses all over your front door.
NI is going to self harm again too by voting for the DUP after all the corruption and arseholery they've been up to. -

We'd be in exactly the same place with regard to tax avoidance if Labour were in power.
Labour took nearly £400k from PwC last year, despite PwC widely being recognised in the finance industry as one of the most aggressive tax avoiding firms in the world that consistently pushes the boundaries of legality. The hypocrisy is hysterical. If you voted Labour you are buying into exactly the same practices you are condemning. Even old Ed Miliband amended his late father's will to dodge inheritance tax.
If anyone thinks this is a Tory/Cameron problem, then they have missed the point on a rather grand scale (although to be fair that does seem to be this thread's raison d'être).

But this isnt about party politics is it?
I thought it was about Dave squirming and dribbling exquisitely worded statements out.Makes him look dubious dontcha know.

Blairites only?
Or are the Corbynites at it too?I've always had the impression Bliar destroyed proper Labour.

Claiming the Tories/Cameron are a problem is very different from claiming they are the problem. I'm not sure many people have said the latter, but everyone seems to agree on the former (even the comments section of the FT!).
Everyone knows other people do these things as well, but other people do not hold a majority in parliament.
In any case, you seem to be making a claim to knowledge above and beyond everyone else in this thread (who have "missed the point on a rather grand scale"), so please do enlighten.

Straw man eh? This is not about general tax avoidance.
Its about Cameron's tax avoidance and his mealy-mouthed attempts to justify it.

point of order, sir
please clarify: "everyone else in this thread (who have missed the point on a rather grand scale)"
every poster (except the enlightened philosophers) on this thread has missed the point, or only those who have missed the point..
reads ambiguously

Thank you for bringing the ambiguity to my attention.
My aim was to draw attention to the honourable @Ratty's position that this thread's "raison d'etre" (I find the use of French here troubling) is to "[miss] the point on a rather grand scale." This, to me, is a rather bold - and dare I saw - provocative claim.
I probably should have used quotes.

We can talk about Ted Cruz?
I think this is genuinely the worst thing I've ever had the displeasure of reading.
