You have the whole cable and outer or just replacing the inner?

There were some specifics I was asking like have the discs been replaced recently or has the drc suspension been replaced (both hefty expenses on the rs4).
I was also put off my people who couldn't answer more generic questions like what type of service the car last went through etc.
I ended buying my car off a complete rs4 nerd who knew more about them than me which I found quite reassuring. Particularly about some known fragilities of the b7 he had addressed.

This is worth a read if you like the thought process and engineering behind some race car engineering:

After some corrective work and massaging I'm picking up the B7 tonight with over 100bhp more than when I dropped it off. Should be an entertaining drive home.

Assuming that's a manual? Apparently the tiptronic box is supposed to be alright in the S4. ducks

Yep, they only came in manual. The later B8 models came with a dual-clutch s-tronic but never driven one and not really read up on how it was received.

Went to test drive my mate's new F100 (1970.) He'd never driven an old truck before and described terrifying handling problems. Good news was that there's nothing wrong with it. Bad news....moderately terrifying handling comes as standard!

All this talk about cars, so what do LFGSS members own and drive then?
Can I do past cars?
First car - 1969 MG Midget, tartan red, still taxed according to online check!
1972 Hillman Avenger GT - green with racing stripes, spectacular MOT 3-sheets-of-fail meant I sold it and it was exported to Ireland
1978 Datsun Cherry - bought for fifty quid, run for a year, sold for a fiver
1980 Corolla - this was a wicked car, owned for two years and never had any problems
1980 Mercedes W123 - after having a go in a mate's mint 280 I decided it would be a great, reliable, everyday classic for driving to work... so I bought a shagged 200D(iesel), which did 0-60 in literally 20 seconds. It broke down more times than I can remember, sounded like a freight train, but I loved it.
2003 MGZT - bought for £300 as a marginally-more reliable vehicle when my W123 was waiting for parts. Horrible car, but I ended up selling it for a grand!
1996 Ford Falcon - whilst working in NZ for a few years, 4l engine, incredible cruiser... 4 years owned, 350,000kms on the clock when I sold it, and not a single thing went wrong, not even a bulb.
And currently a 2002 Ford Focus 1.6 Ghia - it's a future classic, right? Needs a bit of rust prevention before the winter, I think, because I spotted a scab on the inside of the rear arch lip. Which I'm only too happy to do, because despite being the archetypal sensible cheap car, it's actually really nice. And I can get two mountain bikes in the back only needing to remove the front wheels. -

This is probably more "Graphic design appreciation" but we don't have a thread for that.

...how expensive will this be? Apparently the lights are unobtainable and the whole front end was bent.

There used to be one of those parked in Hammersmith, slowly rotting at the end of our road.
It got taxed and MOT'd every year but seldom washed and coveted.
