Some lovely details, such as the FD cable guide, and the sweep of the seat tube is very elegant.
The paint is also nicely done (the "embossing" must have taken some skill), but I'm not sure how I feel about brown.
Looks good against your patio furniture if nothing else.
Either way, it's an ideal old-meets-new project: you already have that with the contrast of the frame and the paint.

Excell tubing is dope !
Is it French threaded ?(fork/bottom) if yes you may use a 22mm insert stem..

That paint is ace. Could go either way with the modern bits but looking forward to seeing what it turns out like!

Thanks folks .. I never had say in paint it was refinished before it came to me .. I like it though .. English bb and fork ..
From what I've read excell tubing was the French answer to Reynolds 753 it's 1750g frame weight which is respectable if not super light ..

Here it is ... Not convinced yet by the carbon clinchers they look good but kinda defeat the nice buzz of steel .. I have a pair of nice alloy wheels (new but look retro) to try aswell
Rides beautifully :)
Need longer post and I'm changing stem to adjust fit

Thanks ..
Looking at my build its obvious I don't do bike/parts etiquette ;)
Must say though due to swoopy seat tube an inline post may be the way to go .

And of, course, you'll get shouted down for putting a Flite on a set-back seatpost. :)
I think you have it backwards: a Flite makes more sense on a setback seatpost (due to the rails being all the way at the back of the saddle). This way it simulates the same position as a 'normal' saddle on a seatpost without setback. But mainly a Flite on a non setback seatpost just looks weird (due to the rails). Or my whole life must've been a lie.

C'mon which is it .. Have I committed a faux pas or not ?

I'm confused about the flite rules, got one on online post and never occurred to me it looked weird.
Otherwise I like the grey cranks here... We're all so confused aren't we?
Lovely bike for sure!

what are the wheels?
-

Thanks ..
Looks wise I think flite looks better on layback post but I guess ultimately it's down to what fits pilot best :)
Wheels are wheelsfar 38mm carbon clinchers .. Been bullet proof in nearly 3 years use :)

I wasn't intending to build another bike(as you do) but I've always fancied throwing modern type parts on an older frame ..
When this came up with 130mm back end I knew it was the one !
Plan is Dura Ace 7800 and carbon clinchers .. May look gaudy may look cool who knows :)
