  • Weds is easts too

  • Moved that to thursdays, it's got a new acronym DARK, it's German and not grammatically perfect.

  • Ground was quite firm this evening (walking not riding).

One thing for people who have never ridden in the forest at night.

I hope you are not scared of shadows.

If you are, I hope you haven't seen Blair Witch.

    If you have, bring nappies.

  • ^ I was up there yesterday for a couple of loops and can confirm that it's drying up nicely! A good indication of this, was the fact that my chupacabras on the stache didn't try to kill me on every slight deviation to the trails.....there still some big bogs, obviously, but normally a little work around by them. I tried cardiac hill again for the first time in ages and managed a strava PB too, so they must have levelled it a bit or something, as my knee still isn't right :0)
I wanted to get a benchmark for when my oval ring gets here :0)

  • Not to worry. The local satanic cultists only use the forest on Tuesdays.

  • Serial killer group is on a Friday.

Or at least it used to be. Haven't been for a while.

  • Strangely they all started to disappear, one by one. Then you left town.

  • But there's dogging every night!

I went for a ride in the Chilterns yesterday and was impressed at how dry it was, was also pleased to have a geared bike

If the weather continues like this i'll bring the geared bike, which has the bonus of some front suspension! Might also make the cycle home afterwards more bearable

  • But there's dogging every night!>

don't wander into the bushes at hollow ponds.. not even joking.

  • hollow ponds

I doubt the rides will ever head that far South, even when I'm lost.

  • Don't worry, I know some spots.

  • Got caught in the rain up there yesterday.....boo!
In other news, the RED absolute black oval seems to be very good.....at first, it didn't feel any different at all and I thought it was a load of bollocks....then, after a few climbs, it dawned on me that it was getting easier to do the ups....it was a bit weird. It seems that when it starts to get harder to pedal, and you think about shifting to a lower gear, if you press a bit harder on the pedals, it seems to get easier....I might just be easily impressed, but considering it was cheaper than a replacement raceface ring, it's a no brainer.

  • At least it'll be dark...

  • Did I not mention it glows in the dark too?

    Ha! I like it!

  • Deep boggy bog like bogs.

  • Try not to step on any of these funny looking logs.

  • Pleased to report that my old lights appear to be working ok.

  • That does look pretty decent. Might be a good idea to check my light as well...

  • FWIW I bought one of the ebay lights up thread, and its not noticeably brighter than my Exposure Sirus. Obvs its much cheaper, but I'm glad I got the Sirus first.
(not a complaint, just an observation)

  • That's basically the same one I got from torchy the battery boy (for £20). It is decent enough, a bit 'spotlighty ', but good for your bars. And with that one for £40, you get three years warranty and you won't have an exploding charger!

  • and you won't have an exploding charger!

    I guess that's a good thing.

  • Considering a recce of this on Friday afternoon, so I don't get us all too lost when it's dark.

  • I could join you. Might stand a chance of drying out if the weather is kind this week.
