oh and the oddly the napalm production plant mission seems to stand head and shoulders above most of the big missions. not sure why but it was a fucking blast.

I got The Culling yesterday, it's pretty good.

I tried to do the medical one (rescue doctor) and got hosed by the bad guy at the end. I was only level 4 though, so maybe need to do some side stuff first

The reviews aren't particularly overwhelming. The most consistent positive thing appears to be that it's 'stylish'.

Guy's a fool. Anyone knows you marry Mjoll and kill Aerin while she's asleep.

Steam Controller arrived this week. Gave it a quick bash in CS GO which I have never played before. Feels dead nice, really responsive, makes the Xbox 360 controller feel baggy and slack. I think I could get really into it. Now to test it out on some more games when I get the chance...

Ah, you bought one.
I've not used it much on FPS', but it works a treat on games like XCOM (tend to play while on the turbo). It's definitely a slick bit of kit.
I got the Steam Link too and despite a few teething problems where I didn't realise that it came with a Steam controller dongle built in, and couldn't figure how to fix the resolution (PC upstairs is 1440p, TV downstairs is 1080p) then it's been good too. -

Yeah, really into Steam, liked the idea of a Steam link too but built my Dual Boot Hack to fulfil the same purpose and binned off my Xbox. Not sure if its worth trying to stream to my iMac (the Hack is more powerful, but not massively really, although I am now getting tempted to max it out and get a new GPU to replace my used-6-times-GTX950). No issues with lag or owt?

Ps4 was updated last night, now it can stream games to my laptop if the telly is being used. Pretty slick.
-
• #15117
Think it works on Macs too right?
-
• #15118
No problems with lag, but I ran cat6a from PC upstairs -> router under stairs -> lounge tv when I had the carpet being replaced so it should be decent. Quite glad to be shot of wireless (mostly immature windows drivers to blame)
Steam link wouldn't stream to the mac specifically, it's more that it lets you stream to a monitor, so you get the £50 link and an HDMI cable and that screen is now a console, or so the blurb says. PC upstairs does all the heavy lifting and the link just throws the picture onto a new screen.

Ahhh man... i'd love to be able to wire my flat up properly but have no time or money to take up floorboards, even though they do need work.
Sounds like a decent set up, although my wireless is pretty solid (fibre optic running through Apple Airports). -

Mine was a bit of a ballache to be honest. I only took up the bare minimum of floorboards so the rest of the work involved tying bits of string to something, then poking my head through the floorboards and trying to aim a throw across the foundations. Repeating half a dozen times with much swearing inbetween, then pulling the thrown thing up from the other side of the foundations and using the string as a guide to tie the cat6a to. Then for upstairs, fortunately there is some removed pipework between the floors so there are holes ready made to run a cable through. Still a hassle, but glad I did it eventually.
And whoever owned the house before decided it was best to throw all the extra carpet gripper into the foundations, which makes for a million spiky things things to snag a bit of string on. I'm not sure if they were trying to set a trap. Great if I want to recreate Home Alone however.

Mint. I wish I was at home playing video games.
Or maybe out on my bike. Maybe. -

Bought The Divison last night. Thoroughly enjoyable so far though I can imagine it getting a bit grindy given enough random killing of looters/protecting supply drops etc. But still, walking through an apocalyptic New York is pretty awesome. Just needs Zs.
-
• #15124
Yeah I'm tempted by this. Every game needs Z's. Really hope the threat they pose in DayZ is increased dramatically... come on .60!

I keep going online and no one is about! I had to kill about 18 zombies at once the other day on my own (pic in The Thread). This is what BROS are for.
the division is pretty easy (on regular difficulty)
I use m44 or m1a snipery type rifle as my main gun and aim for head shots from a distance. key is to keep plenty of distance between you and the enemies as up close combat you will die quickly all the time.
everyone I play with on co-op seems to go for turrets as their skills but i find the ping with increased damage and the quick heal ones work well so far and i'm up to lvl 21 now.
the missions are starting to get a bit like the first assassins creed now though, getting bored of setting up satellite relays, securing supply drops and fixing water tanks now. though thankfully some of the bounties and even random encounters with named enemies keep things fun. i've only dipped my toe in the dark zone (see prev. post) but i think that's where the long-term playability is going to be.
