  • Keeping with the yellow theme finished tidying up the Master, mostly touch ups and a damn good clean, components were quite filthy but well preserved in caked on grease and oil. Swapped out the missing 600 parts too.

  • And a seat and wheel swap for a Super and white bar tape. Hubs are now dura ace too, found it hard to find a pair with dura hubs that take an 8 speed cassette at a good price, the early Dura Ace stuff seems to be attracting quite a premium now

  • good work!

  • @saarf & @JusCos : the respray was done by Colnago itself (that's what he told me). He worked for the Rabo Pro Team at that time and had his old Master resprayed when Colnago did the spraying for the whole Rabo-team. That's why it looks so damned good, I think.

  • Whilst trying not to contradict myself that kind of makes the repaint original if you catch my drift

  • mmmm, interesting

Colnago Arabesque in blood red with Campagnolo Super Record groupset 30th anniversary 24K gold.

Ebay sale which is nothing to do with me, it's looks rather good.

  • Damn that Super looks great! Here's my Master Olympic that I just built up:

  • looks fresh, only thing i might swap is the saddle

  • I agree! Thinking about a better alternative. Perhaps a turbo(matic)?

  • one of the nicest colour schemes I know. One like that (size 56 or 57) always welcome here! ;-)

  • i'd go for a flite , your rims look pristine!

  • Yeah I got lucky! Supposedly some guy used them for TTs, only the rear brake track is slightly used.
Liking the idea of a flite, weren't they made to be used on a setback seatpost? Or is that nonsense?

  • don't know about the set back thing, but here's my 96 with one

felt 'period correct' and seems less cumbersome than a rolls, as on my earlier, pre 92 buckler

also appropriate on the dreams i feel

  • Here's one on my Master (wrong angle I know)

  • I swapped it out for a Regal that I preferred but that was purely personal, the Flite lives on another now

  • ^flite is on yellow master in earlier post

I do like the rolls and the turbo saddle but yes they seem a little more cumbersome and heavy looking where the Flite is the complete opposite with a much slimmer build.

Regal fits nicely in between and has nice brass rivets (if you like that kind of thing)

  • Thanks guys! You've convinced me, I'll go put a flite on that bike soon.

  • just my opinion, biased as i do like them , got two 'carbon' ones, for the c40 b stay and c50 superlight

  • I didn't know you owned a c50. It looks awesome in naked carbon with the Campag Carbon group.

  • i have two, the c50 cx neked carbon i posted earlier, (the thing Sven Nys smashed it on)
in an ideal world need 3 more, the c50 pista in neked, a rabo dream pista and a 2nd gen c40
    one can dream ay?
i tell my therapist i'm not a hoarder but an archivist
got an email of someone who picked up a pista in Trinadad and fucking Tobago for peanuts and wanted an apraisal, i'll post tomorrow
